I thought this was an interesting video. I am not here to debate any of it, just wanted to share.

Re: Money in politics
I was expecting an Elizabeth Warren take, got a GannonFan take. I admit I thought a lot of progressives had a point about the problem but just had crappy solutions that would backfire, but it seems they actually don't understand what Citizens United (ironically a pro-Hillary org) actually does.

Re: Money in politics
Money in politics stifles speech and democracy from the local level on up. Nothing has changed and this was not the intent of the 1A.
Amendment is the solution.

How will we take the money out of the media as well?kalm wrote:Money in politics stifles speech and democracy from the local level on up. Nothing has changed and this was not the intent of the 1A.

The whole thing (DC and our media) is influenced by money.

Maybe the better solution is how do we get the people we like to spend their money for our way of life?kalm wrote:That’s the challenge.SeattleGriz wrote:

Seriously. If I had the money that many who influence our government and media, I'd be throwing it around to get my way as well.
Okay, so that goes the opposite of what you ask.

Of course. It’s nothing new but let’s at least stop calling it the Orwellian campaign finance and name it for what it is...legalized corruption. Congressmen don’t spend half of every day reaching out to donors. They spend half of every day receiving bribes.SeattleGriz wrote:Maybe the better solution is how do we get the people we like to spend their money for our way of life?kalm wrote:

Agreed, and that should make it all that more obvious as to why the establishment hates Trump. While we all knew it happened, he is dredging it up. In addition, look at how much fiscal pain Trump is causing for certain ways of thinking and their money.kalm wrote:Of course.
