We are also under a "lockdown" in Minnesota, which just means bars and restaurants are closed. On my bike ride on Saturday, I saw several large gatherings at households around town.

Arguing about the exact cause of almost 300,000 deaths where covid played a role is a red herring.

No it isn’t. Because they never differentiate between “with COVID” and “from COVID”. The fact they had COVID could have played ZERO role, but they’re counted anyways.

Really doesn't prove anything, other than covid deaths hit the population at similar rates to other deaths.

Actually, it means those with bad comorbidities were probably going to die, they just needed that little extra push from COVID. And if it wasn't COVID, it was going to be something else.

Seeing reports that the CDC is going to lower the quarantine period from 14 days 10 days or 7 days with a negative test.

Stay home!

Residents in city of Los Angeles to ‘remain in their homes’ amid COVID-19 surge, mayor’s office says

All residents within the city of Los Angeles should continue to remain in their homes and follow the city’s “safer-at-home” order, which mirrors guidance from L.A. County, according to the mayor’s office.

A public order posted on the mayor’s website Wednesday detailed many of the restrictions, including a ban on some travel with a variety of exemptions.

Still a red herring. Many would have survived had not COVID kicked them over the edge and they also clog up the healthcare system rendering treatment impossible for other patients. Remember that the purpose of the quarantine was to flatten the curve in order to keep the hospitals from being overwhelemed and States having to bid against each other on the black market for medical equipment. The fact that most people with covid only will recover and many won't even know they've had it doesn't tell the whole story.

These are the poor bastards I feel for. Its one thing to stay home when you have 25 acres of room but I just can't imagine living in an apartment in a big city with maybe a balcony to step out on. I'm surprised that there aren't a lot more people wigging out.

Bed rationing in Spokane now. A friend’s grandpa is the only resident of his care center that has not tested positive. They sent two to an ICU yesterday who were returned due to lack of beds.

so, with a population just shy of 800,000, that’s about 1,000 people. Over 8,000 North Dakotans have died from other causes. Do you weep for them too?
