Michelle Obama....gets Barack back in the WH without violating the 22nd Amendment.
Think of it! Joe could rely on BHO. Just like old times.

As my father used to say, that’s a lot of avoirdupois right there.
Think how rotund he’d be if he added booze to the junk food.

Re: Dem VP Candidates
The slate of Dem candidates was pretty dismal. Only two would have made decent presidents ... maybe three (Buttigieg, Klobuchar, Yang)
But none of those three would be VP picks. If Biden picked any of them I would be VERY surprised. But... if he did, I could be tempted to vote for him. I don’t like Scranton Joe and think he is as swampy and crooked as they come
But I am also confident he will be incapacitated or even dead before his first term is up. If he picked Yang it would give me serious pause about my boycott of the duopoly

For all his faults I will give credit to Trump for one thing.....no booze and no smoking. Probably the only reason that he is still alive.

Why the infatuation with Yang? He’s no libertarian, although he’s not as far left as most of the Donk candidates.CID1990 wrote: ↑Wed Mar 04, 2020 8:38 pmThe slate of Dem candidates was pretty dismal. Looking for Michele as the VP candidate and for Uncle Joe to disappear some time between her nomination and the mid-term elections, should he make it thru the election and they possibly prevail in the election.

My cousin was a supply LT with HMX-1. He has told us stories about having to make sure there were M&Ms, chips, and soda on each flight. He prefers glass bottles and was angry that the Marines wouldn't install a bottle opener in Marine 1.
The Marines I used to work with would say someone like Trump suffers from SODA Disease- Sittin' On Dat Ass disease.

Re: Dem VP Candidates
The Dems need to flip 36 electoral votes to win in November, so where do they get them from?
Dems first of all need to hold onto Nevada (6 votes), New Hampshire (4 votes), and Minnesota (10 votes). Those were close or razor thin in 2016. Say for sake of argument that they're all still safely blue.
The ones Trump won that were close were Georgia (16 votes), Florida (29 votes), Wisconsin (10 votes), Michigan (16 votes), PA (20 votes), Arizona (11 votes), North Carolina (15 votes). Which VP running mates wins him any of those states? I don't think there's one out there who wins Florida for him, so take that one out. I think Michigan is tipping blue anyway, so almost any VP should not get in the way of that. So that means they need 20 more electoral votes. Abrams might be enough to get him Georgia, but would she help win anywhere else? Warren might be able to help in PA, but that's iffy. Not sure she sways any other state to him. I'm not sure Harris wins him any of those states. Michelle Obama, on the other hand, might make all those states competitive, especially the rust belt ones. The choices look a little slim at this point if it's not Obama.

Re: Dem VP Candidates
I don't think the VP choice is going to swing the election one way or the other.
Trump appears to be hemorrhaging voters in the 65+ demographic. It was one of his best in 2016. If that holds... Trump ain't getting reelected.

Re: Dem VP Candidates
In any other election, sure. But the Dems went with a candidate that's a betting favorite to be the first to be removed with the 25th amendment, if he doesn't just leave on his own. If there's ever an election for the VP to matter a little, it's this one.Skjellyfetti wrote: ↑Wed May 20, 2020 9:16 am I don't think the VP choice is going to swing the election one way or the other.

Re: Dem VP Candidates
Going to disagree, there. I think most people suspect whoever the VP will at least take a larger Dick Cheney-esque role in the administration if not take over altogether after Biden resigns for "health reasons".Skjellyfetti wrote: ↑Wed May 20, 2020 9:16 am I don't think the VP choice is going to swing the election one way or the other.
And if he picks Lizzie Warren he could forfeit the advantage with 65+ year old voters you mention.
