As we get into the social-distancing thing, I thought I’d create a poll about Sunday night’s debate between Biden
and Bernie. I regard this as must-see TV. We plan to make a huge bowl of popcorn and have our favorite libations on hand. Who wins? The Socialist or Dr. Dementia? Discuss.

I think the DNC will find a way to cancel this thing so Joe doesn't get embarrassed. That said, Bernie is too much of a pussy to go for a kill if it were held. He is already talking about how Joe could beat Trump.
So yeah I voted that Trump wins the debate because choo choo motherfucker.

I agree that Bernie is too much of a puss to go for the kill shot on Creepy Joe. He wouldn't do it on Hilldog so why start now.

DNC just announced the debate was being moved from AZ to DC. Still on as of now. The Bernie Bros will howl if it’s cancelled.

I wish they'd let Tulsi in. Would love to see her end Joe just like she did Kamala.

I saw maybe 40 minutes of it. Bored me to distraction. Bernie didn’t get the KO that he needed.

I saw Biden put down gender requirement for VP (said he will pick a woman) and race and gender litmus test for SCOTUS (said he would pick a black woman).

But of course. Biden wants to be perceived as a man of the left. Which he is.

And would govern from the center right.
I watched some and agree Bernie failed to get a knock down.
With all the uncertainty going on this still might not be over but Biden’s mental acuity seemed better tonight.
A few weeks ago I thought there was a strong chance of Trump’s re-election but I’m pulling back from that now. I think he’s toast. Whether it’s one of these two or a late comer remains to be seen.

Anthony Fauci is the real POTUS now. Trump’s chances have fizzled with the arrival of Covid19.

Exactly my thoughts on both points.

All it took was someone in the administration to exhibit valuable competence and POOF!

Biden won by making it through a speech without a gaffe, unless you count Bernie catching him lying about his past support for cutting SS and Medicare, and forcing him to double down on his assertion that he was never for cutting SS and Medicare, a straight up lie the Trumplets will crucify him with come the general. Bernie didn't do enough to sway public opinion but he did back JB into a couple of ideological cormers on social programs and VP choice (can't wait to see Z's review ).
I'm not sure if Joe realizes how his popularity increases in direct proportion to how much he sounds like Bernie.

His disappearing act has been noticed by Independents. I think the case for letting a businessman run the country is dead for the nexxt 50 years or so.

FYP
Independents are hearing it - I'm not sure Biden can make it to the election without a major fuckup but if he does they'll come out. The most entertaing outcome will be if Trump hangs on but the Senate flips. Over under for Trump stroking out or choking on a quarter pounder: six months

Copying Bernie will turn off more independents than it attracts in the general election. Bernie's momentum shriveled up and died when all of the other relative centrists in the race dropped out and it became Biden vs. Bernie. Bernie didn't even get that big of a bump when Warren dropped out which makes me wonder if some of her support was because she was a woman not because of her positions.
I don't think the country is as supportive of a move to the left as you, Trip and Kalm believe.

I don't have any doubt about that part - my wife was one of them. Biden's support will be wide but not deep just because he isn't Trump.
Copying Bernie may turn off more Independents in the general elections, but first you have to get there and I think he'll change his stories as soon as he's officially nominated. I thought Bernie backed him into a corner a couple of times and that one has the potential to hurt him. He forced Joe to commit to a female VP and he forced him to look straight at the camera and lie about never having been in favor of cutting medicare and SS. Film abounds of him doing precisely that and the conks are going to beat him like a rented mule with the footage.
It appears that the same voting machine programmers are being used as in '16 - once again the exit polling is accurate in areas where the voting machine leaves a trail and significantly differs from the results in areas where the machine vote cannot be checked. The greatest irony of the last election was how the conks fucked HRC in the general election in precisely the same fashion as the DNC fucked Bernie in the last primary. Will that happen again? The odds are lower this time because the fix is already in - the corporate oligarchy has already won the White House regardless of which party prevails in the Presidential election and they don't hate Biden with anywhere near the intensity that they hate Clinton. The part of the election that matters is the Senate - flip the Senate and keep the House and Trump will stroke out in office in fairly short order. As medicated as he is he might even reprise Elvis' finale and croak on the shitter "straining at stool" -makes me all warm and fuzzy just thinking about it.
October surprise from the donks? You'd think it would be easy to find if they spend even half the time at it as they've spent fucking Bernie over. We still haven't heard from Trump's accountant, not a peep, and they can always go after Trump's kids, who certainly deserve it and the precedent has been set with Hunter Biden. With any luck this could be the dirtiest, filthiest, most disgusting election we've ever had.

Maybe not and we will probably never know for sure. There's an awful stacked against the move politically.
