When Will Bernie Pull Out? (POLL)

Post by Ivytalk »

The Donk establishment is calling on Sanders to withdraw. Will the crabby old Stalinist hang on for the duration? If not, how long will he last? Bear in mind that the virus is causing many primaries to be postponed.

Doesn't matter what Biden does, he's still got the super-delegates and voting machines. Its more important to flip the Senate than elect Joe Biden.

Then we'll have President Pence after impeachment and/or Trumper thumper.

Not sure I'd want to bet on Pence surviving the blast but I bet the Evagelicals are jizzing themselves over how close they are to taking the White House and secretly disappointed that Trump was able to stonewall his way out of the Russia problem. If the donks hold the House and flip the Senate Trump himself will be pretty much irrelevant. With an all-donk Congress Trump's choice is the frying pan or the fire. If he stays he's going to be impeached again and have a real hard time avoiding being interviewed under oath. If he leaves office the SDNY will be up his ass within minutes, and we're going to have a fascinating insider look at a criminal enterprise with our guide Allen Weisselberg. Whom I will bet no longer bears any physical resemblance to existing photos of himself.

Bernie was never going to be the nominee refardless of the votes. It would be nice to see a brokered convention just to make the DNC do their cheating in public but it shouldn't be necessary to bring in the super-delegates - the voting nachines can handle this.

There's no cheating. There was no cheating in 2016. The majority of Democrats wanted Hillary to be the nominee in 2016. The majority of Democrats DON'T want Sanders to be the nominee this time. It's not a situation in which Bernie was never going to be the nominee regardless of the votes. If a scenario had developed in which he got the MAJORITY of the pledged delegates due to the primary voting he's have been the nominee. But that was not going to happen because the majority of the Democrats don't WANT him as the nominee.

There is some chance that, if enough people had stayed in the race, he could've gotten to the convention with a plurality of the pledged delegates. That would've made for an interesting convention. It's possible he'd have been denied under that scenario because...again...most Democrats don't want him.

But it was not a situation in which he was not going to get the nomination regardless of how many votes he got. He just wasn't going to get enough votes to lock him in.

Why should Bernie pull out now?
OH: postponed from 3/17 to 6/2
GA: postponed from 3/24 to 5/19
CT: postponed from 4/28 to 6/2
MD: postponed from 4/28 to 6/2
IN: postponed from 5/5 to 6/2
LA: postponed from 4/4 to 6/20
KY: postponed from 3/19 to 6/23
Might have missed a few other postponed...

With the Chinese Virus delaying primaries right and left, Bolshevik Bernie can now ride this out for 2 1/2 months until June, hoping that Crazy Uncle Joe gets the Chinese Virus, or his dementia gets markedly worse, or he says something so dumb that the DNC can't cover up.

Maybe not enough to affect the outcome - but there seems to be more than one source saying there were discrepancies between exit polling and results in districts that used electronic machines that didn't leave a paper trail vs no discrepancies in districts where there was a trail, both in '16 and this year.

Heard anything from Creepy Joe lately, let alone anything that resembles leadership?

Bernie is asking his fund-raising organization to raise money for supplies and PPE for responders and charities - raised $2,000,000 in the past few days. Put that in your neolib moderate pipe and smoke it, chou pic. 8-)
