Probably should be like officers of public companies - they have to make known they are selling and they have to give advance notice. I don't see any reason why that shouldn't be the case.

As for this thread, it was 3 GOP Senators that we know of (Barr, Loeffler, and Inhofe - although Inhofe's sells were significantly lower than the other 3 Senators) and 1 Democratic Senator (Feinstein). I'm in favor of drumming out all 4 of them immediately from the Senate. In the case of Barr and Feinstein and Loeffler, these weren't small deals, these included millions of dollars and all three of them had significant advance notice of things to come. Resignations are the least they should do at this point.

I asked questions and wondered what the solution would be. What's with the eye rolling?

The public disclosure is an option but company officials are not bound by that. And what happens if something leaks out before formally announced? Would that be considered "public disclosure"?
