Cap'n Cat is thinking of giving Corporal Cat and Lieutenant Cat promotions for good behavior. What are all the ranks below General in the military?
Love,
Your Cap'n

Looks like you might need to go with the naval ranks. Otherwise a promoted Lieutenant Cat might be considered your equal.

Thanks, everyone. I'm kinda digging
"Commander" Cat and such.
If they pass me up in rank, it's OK. You always hope your kids do better than you did, right?

Corporal and Specialist are the same rank, E-4.
Unlike a Specialist, however, a Corporal is a junior non-commissioned officer and may direct the activities of other soldiers.

Things have changed. Back in the day all E-4s were junior NCOs, in fact, outside of the grunts you rarely saw a hard stripe E-4.

I make the same amount of money as my buddy at stillwate mine, but that doesn't make me a geologist. I think you are just splitting hairs here.

Actually, I think it's you that's splitting hairs. I was in charge of troops as a Sp4 and NCOIC of the Powertrain/Prop&Rotor Shop. But that was 30+ years ago when they still had Sp5s and even the occasional Sp6.

Q - Do Corporals still exist
A - Yes
BTW, I'm sure Cap'n Cat will make sure that both will get the allowance of an E-4 if Lieutenant Cat gets busted down to Specialist Cat and Corporal Cat gets no promotion.

Z,
I'm just curious, what did you do in the Navy? How long were you in?

22 years, started as E-2 (Fireman Apprentice), ended as O-4, Lieutenant Commander, Surface Warfare Officer qualified. I was Lt Roberts, Ensign Pulver, Captain Queeg (sp?), etc.
