Define “with safety protocol.”
Which exact protocols?
Voluntary or mandated and enforced by law?

Support & retained.
I think we have enough infected people to slow down secondary outbreaks. I also think people in general are going to be more germ-conscientious without being told to be.
Time to put the keys back in the ignition and turn them.

Well based on how AZ's poll is worded, it doesn't matter.

The key thing is if your household income has been effected or not.
Either/or on the safety protocols are irrelevant to the poll. The poll covers both instances you are asking about, IMHO.

My vote is to open up and we should of opened up 2 weeks ago.
And for some other evidence, I have had this conversation with 4 friends who are furloughed (2 mechanical engineers, Shop Manager, and lead shop mechanic) and were told to collect unemployment as the company wanted to cut costs temporarily and had an excuse with the extra unemployment befits being offered now. They would all vote for opening up the economy now.

I got tired of typing. They should be worded identically.
And klammy, at the end of the day, ALL protocols are going to be voluntary, let’s face it.

Funny to see companies assume the state run unemployment offices can just churn out unemployment applications instantly. Lots of people still waiting to even get a response from the unemployment folks here in CA.
Oh and I retained my income and voted to reopen. Only safety protocols that make sense are masks and social distancing (limited amount of people let into stores, 6 ft spacing type of measures), I don't see a feasible way of testing being part of the equation.

As they should be, because: my body, my choice.

Can’t wait until they try and mandate testing and tracing.

Newsom had that as his first item when he rolled out his reopening plan a week or 2 ago....
...as of this post CA is 28th in the US at 18.2k tests per 1M population.

Based on replies and lack of clarification I voted no and I’ve kept my income.
Measured reopening based on current data and testing I’d be down with.
How’s Gallup New Mexico doing?

Need more details.
Illinois "reopened" to some degree on Friday. But, it's hardly to the same degree as Jawjuh, for example.
I'm fine with a gradual reopening. But, don't think status quo ante should just happen immediately.

Yep. The virus doesn’t care about state lines and population.
I wonder what the percentage of people is that still think we’re EVER going back to 2019 normal?

Pick your year. I personally think we’ve been living in a surreal dream most of my adult life.

Didn't have my choice on the ballot
I support opening the parts of America that are safe to open. I'm not sure if that's most of America, half of America or a small portion of America.
We still have our income.

Reopening when "it's safe" means staying locked down until we have a vaccine. No one is truly "safe" until we have it.

See, we have a completely different view of safe. IMO, Safe is if the death rate and case numbers is declining over a certain period of time, similar to what the government has set down for it's recommendations, as in a gradual reopening versus a no-limit, wild west, open the barn doors type.

I think that's a bit much. It's life.
Our kids definitely live a MUCH different life than we did growing up in the 70's, but IMO it's a mixed bag of good, bad, smart, overkill...
We didn't use car seats.
We didn't wear seatbelts.
We didn't wear helmets.
We didn't use sunscreen.
We were allowed to walk to school with no adults, long distances, even as elementary school kids.
We stayed outside all day and all evening during the summer until your dad whistled for you.
Our sports coaches yelled at us when we fucked up.
I got put over a teachers knee in third grade.
Things change.
