Freedom from religion to me, means removing religion. Removing religion from schools, removing religion from public spaces and eventually removing religion entirely. This basically separates people, divides people, instead of meeting each other and learning from each other.
Public schools, public places... both are and should be freedoms from. That's why I sent my kids to private school where half the parents were liberals and half were conservatives. We had an incredibly tight knit community of folks with different beliefs. Hell, I went to a friends house to watch the Obama inauguration because they were so excited he won.
That's were we disagree, I no problem with anyone practicing their religion in a public space. My problem is when government forces religion on people.

We would need to define public space and what's going on. If a church group wants to have a revival at a park and applies for the permits, that's fine. I was really talking about the gov spending money on religious things in a public space.

In either case, you're straying from the original point. One of your four tenets was not an actual freedom.

Banning and freedom from are very different. I don't think very many people want to ban religion. There are a lot more who would ban guns though.

Agree to disagree. AOC and more than a few others have given speeches with that message on a variety of topics (Environment, Pandemic, etc.).
And they literally said we are all going to die?
AOC has and others have used similar verbiage, especially with respect to the Green New Deal.

Yup, including Harris who is on record as supporting a "mandatory buyback". For those too dumb to get it, that means confiscation. :coffee:

AOC endorses Sanders in her "speech", and later clarifies on Twitter.

The New York Democrat, who was given a 60-second slot for her remarks, opened her quick speech by offering her thanks to a “mass people’s movement working to establish 21st century social, economic, and human rights, including guaranteed health care, higher education, living wages, and labor rights for all people in the United States.”

She ended by seconding the nomination of Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt., to be her party's presidential nominee, a symbolic move.

....

That she nominated Sanders at a convention designed to formally nominate Biden, however, caused a bit of confusion on Twitter among those who tuned in. Ocasio-Cortez took to Twitter after her speech to clear up the point of her remarks.

If you were confused, no worries!

Convention rules require roll call & nominations for every candidate that passes the delegate threshold.

I was asked to 2nd the nom for Sen. Sanders for roll call.

I extend my deepest congratulations to @JoeBiden - let’s go win in November. 🇺🇸 https://t.co/uI92P3UfLn
— Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (@AOC) August 19, 2020

It came as little surprise that Ocasio-Cortez — like Sanders, a democratic socialist — used her slot to formally back Sanders, who she also endorsed and campaigned for during the primaries.

But it was notable that Ocasio-Cortez — one of the most outspoken, progressive and youngest members of Congress — spent no time pushing the specific policies that she and Sanders have championed. She did not mention by name any of the signature policies that she and Sanders support, including the Green New Deal or Medicare for All, nor did she namecheck Joe Biden or President Donald Trump.
