2020 Downballot races thread

Post by Pwns »

I see where Laura Loomer has won the GOP primary in FL 21.

She probably doesn't have much of a chance in the general, but I would get ready to see more AOCs and Marjorie Greens in congress as we go forward. Ugh.

Get rid of gerrymandering. I'm not sure how you could make it work but it would also be great if in heavily blue or red districts that a 2nd candidate from the dominate party was on the general election ballot. It would give independents and members of the opposition party an alternative and likely more moderate candidate to vote for who might have a chance of winning.

MAQA - putting the Q into qrazy qanon qult qonspiracy theories since 2015.

It will probably be difficult for MAQA yahoos to overcome the Qult programming but they should give being rational & reasonable a try.

The Lady Graham of SC is in a real dog fight. He's been locked in a tie. I'm hoping he goes on unemployment in November.

Delaware is fucked from end to end. The union/minority/guvmint employee troika will likely ensure a Donk sweep of all Statewide offices again. As long as it has a “D” next to it, Wilmington and New Castle County will vote for it, even if it is a dead skunk.

We gave some money to the “R” candidate for Insurance Commissioner, a doctor who used to be a colleague of Mrs. Ivy. She is the only one with an outside chance. The incumbent is a crony Donk sleaze who knows dick about insurance. But, hey, dead skunks...

All I know is that, right now, the best thing that can happen in the 2020 election is a severe rebuke of the Republican Party for the corruption and unethical conduct it has displayed in association with the Trump phenomenon. Best case scenario is Democrats gaining control of both Houses of Congress as well as the Presidency. And it would be best if the Democrats win the Presidency by a landslide.

Don't know if those things will happen. But it would really help this country in the long run if the Republican Party gets its ass kicked really badly as a result of its decision to cast its lot with Trump.

My Congressional District, MD 7th, The Honorable Elijah Cummings old district. Who ran unopposed some years. I never really paid attention to Primaries, due to be "unaffiliated", I could never vote in one. Plus the District is so Jerrymandered, It's going to go (D) regardless.

Well, the (R) running just made a big cannon ball in all that this week with this ad.

The "I'm not sure how you could make it work" was for the following statement. I do like the Iowa approach to getting rid of gerrymandering. It didn't prevent King but it is significantly better than the sh!t they pull in Illinois.
