Guess I’ll keep my 2012/2016/2020 no-convention-minutes-watched streak intact.

A savvy campaign director could easily deliver this election for Trump at this point (provided anyone can keep him on message and keep him away from talking about Qanon)
Over 700 counties that voted for Obama in 2008 and 2012 flipped and voted for Trump in 2016. And those 700 counties are almost all working class areas, lots of which are in the Rust Belt. At no time could I detect that the DNC was addressing them. There was very little about the economy except to say that Trump was at fault for the economic effects of COVID. That isn’t going to sway those voters.
If the GOP convention focuses on blue collar America and leveling the playing field with China, then most of those 700 counties are going to vote for Trump again. The DNC ignored that sector, and China was conspicuously absent.
BTW I wonder what the sick burn quip will be this year to rival “the 1980s called”... because Trump’s going to “China China China” at Scranton Joe ... and he’ll bring up Joe’s son hitching a ride to China on AF2 to set up a private deal. How will Joe respond to that? If he is dismissive of China like Obama was of Russia, say hello to 4 more years of the Dick President

Last convention I watched more than the nominee speech was the 80 Democratic Convention (Teddy vs Jimmy). And I didn't watch any of the 2012,2016 or 2020 conventions.
and no plans to watch the Trump Family Grift Show.

I watched a teensy bit of the ‘08 conventions for both parties. No more than an hour each. That was it for me. No more infomercials for Ivytalk.

I'm curious to see what Nick Sandman and the gun couple have written for them, but otherwise it's a ho-hum convention. Does anyone really care about hearing what Junior or Ivanka or Eric have to say?
Though I might watch Tiffany Trump. Sorry, I still think she's hotter than Ivanka. Just a preference.

Right - its 200. I was counting each Obama election for some reason.
BTW when is the rent check due?

I'm not a fan of essentially giving Trump a blank check to pursue whatever he wants but what's worse? Not having a platform or having a platform and ignoring it to focus on opposing Trump. How much work toward the platform did the Democratic House achieve while impeaching Trump?

Neither party has a "platform" except to stay elected.

Indeed. People that think otherwise are sadly deluded.

They should have added #TrumpTrain to the end of the platform.

The Conways need a family therapy reality show. Maybe Iyanla FML can help them.

I think it's just Kellyanne that needs an intervention.
I suspect KC is a classic grifter though. If Sanders offered her more money today, she'd be promoting universal healthcare by tomorrow.
