Most lame presidential challenger?

Post by Pwns »

Choose the lamest among the candidates to challenge presidential incumbents, going back to Walter Mondale in 1984...

The choices are:
Walter Mondale
Bob Dole
John Kerry
Mitt Romney
Joe Biden

To be fair, I'm really too young to remember much about Mondale and Dole beyond what I've read about them, but I think Biden has to take the prize here.

Mondale.

Dole and Biden's best years were behind them when they won their party's nomination. Kerry was milquetoast but I give him some credit for being a Vietnam Vet. Romney was the most qualified candidate to run for POTUS in more than 20 years.

Didn't go up against an incumbent but Dukakis deserves a special mention when it comes to being lame.

Obama wasn't an incumbent for that election.

Ah, misread. 2008 was the first election I could vote and I can't remember a ticket being lamer...although in retrospect, I suppose Palin and the Tea Party foreshadowed the dumbing down of the GOP and eventual rise of Trumpism.

McGovern and Dukakis don’t qualify, but they were both extremely lame.

Biden edges out Mondale on your list.

Romney was extraordinary well qualified, but way too moderate to win.

Of the choices available I went with Dole. But in my lifetime it was probably Walter Mondale.

Of course both Dole and Mondale were both up against really master politicians. But they were still weak candidates, I think.

Why does it have to be against an incumbent? Why can’t it jut be most lame presidential candidate?

Well sure. A dead Nazi, but a Nazi nonetheless.....Biden might actually have a chance against a dead McCain.

John Kerry. When he came out with his Vietnam video wearing a genade bandolier, that took the cake.

His whole schtick of "reporting for duty" at the Democratic convention that year was particularly lame.

I still go with Dole as my pick - he barely had a pulse at that point.

I like that Bill isn't even an option. He's obviously the least lame.

Voted Dole.
