In fairness, the club planted all those trees to begin with. We're returning the course to the way it was. It is a stark contrast though. All the trees but maybe 5-6 on the right half of this photo are gone...

Eh, I'm fine with gambling. I'm generally fine with adults doing whatever they want to do as adults barring direct harm to others. Certainly not a libertarian, but I can understand their viewpoint for sure.

My problem is I've been to casinos. The folks who are there most frequently are the ones on fixed incomes and not wealthy. I know that's their choice but I'd rather get the tax income from folks who can afford it.

Well, I think that's pretty much true. State lotteries are basically a tax on the poor as well. I also chuckled a bit when in PA the state lottery always touted that they helped to support senior citizens in PA. Of course, the vast majority of participants were senior citizens so it was an odd way to give themselves money.
