I saw the video earlier this morning. Maybe I was tired, but I swear you could see flashing lights in key spots just prior to the section falling. I wasn't really paying attention, but assumed it was imploded.
Are they saying it just fell, like that?

What you're most likely seeing is the arcing of live electrical wires when they were ripped from the walls when the building collapsed. Kind like when you see a limb hit live electrical lines.

One report said the roof inspector noted corroded rebar, which if widespread, could be a factor.

And once part of it started to go it would just be dominos from there and all of it would go.

They say they're hearing banging so hopefully some of the people get out of that alive.
