Wow...

Rationalizing detention and handcuffing of a nationally recognized reporter attempting to film at an awards ceremony...

but so what, I guess it's ok to violate civil rights for political reasons

very pathetic

T-man
You're such a reactionary self righteous twat...!!!
I'm implying - that I can't figure out why the police care that he's there...
My "so what" is directed at why would anybody care what he's doing as long as he's civil...

Orwell's prophecies come to fruition more and more each passing day. I cannot wait for Obama to suffer and pay a grim price for the atrocities he and his MSM buddies are undoling upon this nation. I await with glee.

You are really delusional, good buddy.

Press is freer now than during the past 8 years. Under Bush, that clown, who was asked repeatedly to maintain order, would probably be in Guantanamo.

And BTW, what does Obama have to do with this in the first place? Private event, local police. I thought you wanted everything local???

Your Obama HATRED does not serve you well. If anyone is destroying this country, it is people that blindly hate Obama, like they did Clinton.

Ummm...

Catamount was more accurate than you realize. Couric was there to receive the Walter Cronkite Excellence in Journalism award for her interview of Sarah Palin which, of course, was successful in it's purpose of attempting to embarass then candidate Palin.

:?

Zeigler's documentary is about how the MSM bagged Palin while working to get Obama elected.

The video doesn't show everything.

Where reporters allowed to be there?
What was his manner before the camera started rolling?

Very Micheal Mooreish

Otherwise thats pretty weak on USCs part

so he gate crashed a private event, was asked to stop disrupting it, and was then arrested for trespassing... how exactly is this "censorship"???

is he being banned from selling or showing his "documentary"??? no.

remember, freedom of speech is a PUBLIC right... it's the same way people going in to a Wal-Mart and screaming about how they treat their workers would be arrested if they refused to leave.

yeah... that's it... it's the "medias" fault the Republicans had pissed off 60% of this country with their incompetence to the point that no matter who the GOP nominated, they were going to lose.

It's amazing that the "party of personal responsibility" is always looking to blame someone else when they fuck up... lose an election "it's the media's fault" it couldn't just be that voters flat rejected your party or your ideas, or the last 8 years of your governance... no, not at all...

watch the film, Apologist.

He had not "crashed the event"...he was outside a great distance from the doors, standing along the edges of a sidewalk, not impeding any attendees access to the event.

And PUHHHLLEEEZZ...provide even ONE documented instance when a nationally recognized reporter (has his own talk show, been a guest on Fox, CNN, ABC, The View...etc...) was previously arrested by USC police.

Just one.

And by ordering him from the property, he was prevented from soliciting attendees to buy his documentary. Now, that may SEEM ok...

...but again, how many times has USC arrested journalists for attempting to sell their books, cd's, dvd's, etc...?

(here's a hint, having spent a great deal of time on college campuses in CA, where groups, journalists, authors, artists, musicians and the sort sell their "wares" on campus property...EVERY DAY: Campus police only intervene if the person selling is DISTURBING OR THREATENING others on campus.)

I'm not going to make any excuses for Palin's sorry performance in that interview, but what exactly did Couric do to deserve the award? There was nothing extraordinary done by Couric. I think it's pretty clear that this is an award given for purely political reasons. Maybe she'll get the Nobel Peace Prize next  .

If I were a USC student I'd be embarassed that such a joke of an award was given on my campus and I think I'd be protesting it, too.

Right, why not just let the owner use the "castle" defense? He should have been arrested if he was trespassing, asked to leave, and refused to go. Fine, then you're trespassing. I wouldn't allow some jackass with a camera on my property, regardless of the event, unless I allowed it.

me too... Couric is a nothing special reporter... she asked the questions that any third year journalism student would have or should have... it wasn't "too tough" an interview... she gave Snow Machine Barbie just enough rope to let her hang herself.

the person who deserves the award is the tard-scout on the McCain campaign who figured "hey, she's a high profile broad.... she won't be too tough one of her own... she'll just ask softballs..."
