Do I think biden should enforce existing immigration laws, even ones he disagrees with? Yes

Do I think abbott and Texas should be preventing the Border Patrol from doing their jobs? No. What abbott is doing is just as vindictive as what biden is doing.

Do I think Congress should tell trump to pound sand, do their jobs, and pass immigration reform? Yes.
Thats what the Biden admin is claiming. Not what the Border Patrol union reps are saying. I’ll take the word of the union reps who represent thw rank and file over Biden, Mayorkus, Kirby, that Pierre woman, or anyone else in the Biden admin.
BDKKKaren is pro-union!

I don't blame you for not trusting the biden administration. They're about as honest as the trump administration was.

Lol no they don’t. Kinzinger is an idiot.

Doesn’t include Remain In Mexico which would shut down most crossings..Regardless, any bill that doesn’t include Remain in Mexico should be DOA.
The Details of Biden's Border Security Bill Show It Won't Work and That's Probably the Plan

…..This deal would allow 1.825 million illegals to enter the US every year.

Once the 5,000 daily threshold is reached, the Border Patrol is allowed to remove them immediately. The obvious question is, why 5,000? Why not 0? Because if you can close the border at 5,000, you can close it at 0...and if you can't close it at 0, you can't close it at 5,000.

It looks like the first 5,000 across the line are allowed to request asylum; the rest aren't. I don't see how that survives any sort of a legal challenge.

Immediate removal sounds nice, but that authority only applies to Mexicans. The Mexican government usually doesn't accept Other Than Mexicans (OTMs) because they are illegal immigrants.

The border is no longer in crisis when the number of daily illegals falls below 3,750. Allowing 1.369 million illegal immigrants into the US every year doesn't sound like control to me.

Family units will be paroled.

There is no mention of how unaccompanied minors will be handled.

Illegals caught trying to cross twice while the border is in "shut down" (that means 5,000 illegals have already entered that day) would be banned from entering again for a year. Does that make any sense to you? If we can ban them from the US for a year, why can't we ban them for life?

This will all be done with 1,300 new Border Patrol agents.

The deal claims that all asylum claims will be adjudicated in six months. This is bullsh**. There are nearly 2 million claims awaiting adjudication. Some 99,000 cases are added each month, while about 43,000 are resolved. This is despite the denial rate under Biden cratering. Under Trump, about half of all asylum claims were denied; under Biden, the number is about 15%.

Biden is asking for the authority to hire 375 more immigration judges. According to the Congressional Research Service, if the number of immigration judges was doubled to about 1,400, given the number of asylum claims filed each month, the backlog of cases would continue to grow.

This bill has two purposes. First, to normalize illegal immigration into the United States at a rate of at least 2 million per year if the plan worked. But the plan can't work because the "5,000" per day can't survive legal scrutiny. There is no plan to reduce the case backlog. There is no plan to deal with the second-order problem of what to do with this mass of illegals and the influx of "Dreamers." The second objective is to give Biden unfettered control of the US Border via some nebulous "new emergency authority." Sorry, but Joe Biden and "Wierd Al" Mayorkas are the last guys in the universe who should be trusted with any sort of "emergency authority…."

Irrelevant red herring. Paxton wasn’t talking about the Civil War, which Kinzinger, and apparently you, fail to grasp. :dunce:

Kinzinger is right and wrong. texastan joined the union and lost the war.

If texastan hadn't joined the US they might have been taken back over by Mexico and the Marty Feldman lookalike attorney general of texastan could be worried about illegal immigrants crossing other borders. :coffee:

MAGA truck convoy called 'Army of God' heads to southern border as experts warn border crisis likely to get even WORSE after record 302,000 migrants crossed over into the US

Oops…

Lets see, FY 2020, last full fiscal year under Trump, 400k encounters at border..
https://www.pewresearch.org/short-reads ... al-2020-2/
FY 2023, 2.4 million under Biden, and all time record, which shattered the all time record from FY 2022 set under Biden. And note from link above, chart shows going back to 2020, never was more than 1.64 million.
10/26/23:
In FY23, CBP recorded more than 2.4 million encounters at the Southwest border and more than 3.2 million encounters nationwide. Just this fiscal year, 169 individuals on the terrorist watchlist were apprehended attempting to enter the country illegally, and at least 1.7 million known gotaways have evaded apprehension since FY2021.
https://homeland.house.gov/2023/10/26/f ... ders-ever/

So Biden FY 2023 was letting in 6 times as many as Trumps last year (amd even more now in FY 2024), but only deported 3.5 times as many...

Look at my edit. Biden letting in 6x as many, but only NOW removing 3.5X per month (not over a whole fiscal year). Major fail.
