This has gone cray-cray.

FB "fact-checkers" have started in on posts in FB pages dedicated to fantasy novels. Don't they have better things to do?!?

Image

Image was from a thread about The Rivan Codex, which had the background studies David and Leigh Eddings did while preparing to write The Belgariad series. One of the posters has been finding online pics to illustrate portions of the books. So what the "fact-checkers" are saying is that stuff about fantasy stories are automatically wrong, even if they're correct within the story, simply because they don't match liberal "real life" on Planet Earth. SMH....

I tried Eddings but he was no Terry Brooks.

BTW, most fantasy fiction nerds are liberal.

Gandalf was pretty much a commie-Buddhist.

Maybe most but definitely not all. Orson Scott Card is on of the best.

Eddings and Brooks are both excellent. Brooks is easier to read, Eddings takes more brain power.

anybody interested in fantasy should check out the Ballantine Adult Fantasy Series edited by Lin Carter that ran from about '69 -'75 - William Morris, George MacDonald, James Branch Cabell, David Lindsay
