Disagree 100% with you, CM.

If those Swiss bank accounts are being used to evade U.S. taxes, which raises the deficit, then the U.S. Government SHOULD go after them.

Every dollar evaded overseas is another dollar added to the deficit. The US Government should aggressively go after ALL tax shelters.

So how are you going to raise revenue? Even you acknowledge that the Federal Government has Constitutional Responsibilities. The US spends close to 3/4 of a trillion dollars every year just on Defense.

That is way too much IMO. Need to bring all the troops back home now.

Considering that the US spends more on Defense than the rest of the world, combined, yeah...

But we still have spend billions on defense - how do we raise that money without the IRS?

You do realize how much that would cost the country?

Smarten up man! Taxes are a necessary evil but they need to be levied, otherwise we wouldn't have a significant military, infrastructure, social servies, etc... We shouldn't abolish the IRS, we should drastically reform it and the tax codes. Abolish the IRS, come on dude!

Ok - so you are abolishing the IRS, then creating another government bureaucracy to take it's place.

The IRS is not the problem. It is the tax codes/regulations/loopholes etc created by Congress.

As long as we have a government, we need revenues to run the government. And then you need a collection agency for said revenues.

The IRS will be around to ensure the Fairtax is being followed (enforcement) and to send everyone checks at the beggining of each month.

Cat Mounter,
You need to start debates about cutest Teletubby and when Amanda Cosgrove will get her first period. Not this stuff. You don't have any perspective and background guiding what/how you post.

Thanks,

They will buy more, have more, therefore they will be taxed more. That is damned regressive, after all they need all their capitol so as to re-invest, in other words, leverage, in other words, hire a bunch of wage earners who have to spend an enormous percentage of their entire income on such luxuries as housing, utilities, and groceries. Fucking stupid simpletons who don't even have the brains to understand such concepts as capitol, and leveraging, and tax shelters, and lobbyists, and constituencies, etc.

No bucks no Buck Rodgers, and damn slow sales on Leer Jets, Hummers, Excursions, third homes, and LBPs working in the flowerbeds.

I'm sure that was a joke but you can't have it both ways. Is it regressive to the higher earners or not?
