ABOLISH THE IRS!!!!!!!!dbackjon wrote:Disagree 100% with you, CM.
If those Swiss bank accounts are being used to evade U.S. taxes, which raises the deficit, then the U.S. Government SHOULD go after them.
Every dollar evaded overseas is another dollar added to the deficit. The US Government should aggressively go after ALL tax shelters.

That is way too much IMO. Need to bring all the troops back home now.dbackjon wrote:catamount man wrote:

So how are you going to raise revenue? Even you acknowledge that the Federal Government has Constitutional Responsibilities. The US spends close to 3/4 of a trillion dollars every year just on Defense.
Considering that the US spends more on Defense than the rest of the world, combined, yeah...catamount man wrote:That is way too much IMO. Need to bring all the troops back home now.dbackjon wrote:

Ok - so you are abolishing the IRS, then creating another government bureaucracy to take it's place.bobbythekidd wrote:Fairtaxdbackjon wrote:how do we raise that money without the IRS?
The IRS will be around to ensure the Fairtax is being followed (enforcement) and to send everyone checks at the beggining of each month.dbackjon wrote:Ok - so you are abolishing the IRS, then creating another government bureaucracy to take it's place.bobbythekidd wrote: Fairtax
The IRS is not the problem. It is the tax codes/regulations/loopholes etc created by Congress.
As long as we have a government, we need revenues to run the government. And then you need a collection agency for said revenues.
Good post Jon.dbackjon wrote:Disagree 100% with you, CM.

You need to start debates about cutest Teletubby and when Amanda Cosgrove will get her first period. Not this stuff. You don't have any perspective and background guiding what/how you post.
Thanks,

How so?hank scorpio wrote:No way, its regressive on higher incomes.
They will buy more, have more, therefore they will be taxed more. That is damned regressive, after all they need all their capitol so as to re-invest, in other words, leverage, in other words, hire a bunch of wage earners who have to spend an enormous percentage of their entire income on such luxuries as housing, utilities, and groceries. Fucking stupid simpletons who don't even have the brains to understand such concepts as capitol, and leveraging, and tax shelters, and lobbyists, and constituencies, etc.bobbythekidd wrote:How so?hank scorpio wrote:No way, its regressive on higher incomes.
I'm sure that was a joke but you can't have it both ways. Is it regressive to the higher earners or not?Wedgebuster wrote:They will buy more, have more, therefore they will be taxed more.
