The utter hypocrisy of the evangelical GOP...

...sickens me. Whether or not you personally believe in a end time "rapture" or not, the fact that they are using it as a smack back to the Obama administration is utterly reprehensible and even Jesus Christ himself would not be amused.

I saw a sign on a Baptist church today in Greenville that read "God's stimulus plan: the Rapture!". Here you have a bunch of so called Christians mocking something that the government feels, in their ELECTED right to do so, will help fuel our nation towards economic growth and these people want to use religion to justify their snub of it. I find it so funny that these are the same people who gathered together for a tea party protesting taxes YET never found the time or energy to do the exact same thing when King George III was spending our money like it was growing on trees and spitting on the Constitution as well.

These same "lovers of Christ" did not mind one single dime spent to fuel an idiotic war in Iraq that claimed the lives of their own sons and daughters plus countless innocent Iraqi civilians, yet want to raise immortal hell about their tax dollars going to help fellow Americans who, whether they care to admit it or not, are not in their financial shape of their own choosing. Some are yes, most aren't due to the recent economic downturns BROUGHT ABOUT by the failure of the previous administration to regulate financial institutions properly.

Maybe Jeanine Garafolo had it right after all? They praise Jesus with their lips, but yay their hearts are far from him, saith the word of Isaiah. Even Jesus proclaimed "Render unto Caesar what is duly Caesars and unto God what is God's." The evangelical GOP pundits make me sick!!!

Good post. I'm a donk, but jeanine still licks ass and pundits on the left can be just as bad the ones on the right. I don't need Hollywood celebrities telling me what to think.

Afterall I have the likes of the Cap'n to guide me. ;)

I meant the JG tongue in cheek as you wonder how many racists were truly there at those parties just to be seen going against our President. A fight almost broke out at the Greenville tea party between a white and black woman and several confederate flags were seen in the background.

I am a conservative Republican and I am sickened that social conservatives from the South have hijacked this party. Evangelicals, at least the ones I know, are pretty hateful people. I've gotten into it with 3 evangelicals that blatantly told me they hate Catholics and that I would not go to heaven unless I became one of them...

Want to talk hate, you got it in the evangelical facet of the Republican Party, and it PISSES ME OFF!

Side Note: I am not categorizing ALL evangelicals as haters, only those that actually do hate other Christian faiths.

hijacked??? guiny... they was INVITED IN. never forget it. they delivered for the GOP for a generation, and now feel the party belongs to them... and it does, just as much as it belongs to the libertarians... the ones that the evangelicals have tossed out of the party are the country club republicans... and they will, it appears, fight like hell with the libertarians for control of the party... not that it matters... neither one has the numbers to win an election too many places without the other.

watching a realignment like this has been something that's been overdue for about a decade... watching it happen is going to be fascinating.
