HOUSTON - A 7-year-old boy who was allegedly shot in the head by a couple who thought he and three other people were trespassing on their property died Saturday, authorities said.
Donald Coffey Jr. died Saturday morning at a Houston hospital, less than two days after the boy was struck in the head by shotgun pellets, Sheriff's Cpl. Hugh Bishop said.
Sheila Muhs and her husband, Gayle Muhs, both 45, were charged with second-degree felony counts of aggravated assault in the shootings Thursday. They were being held at Liberty County Jail with bail set at $25,000 each and had not yet retained an attorney, Bishop said.

Later in the article are these few bits....
The Houston Chronicle reported that a sign in front of the suspects' home reads: "Trespassers will be shot. Survivers will be reshot!! Smile I will."
DeFoor said Sheila Muhs then called 911 and told the dispatcher: "They're out here tearing up the levee, so I shot them."
DeFoor said the levee belonged to the subdivision and was not private property.

I hope they face murder charges and get the death penalty.

I don't want to read the article, the summary describes it for itself. They are a bunch pathetic, dim-witted losers that deserve to rot in jail. Killing a child over a levee ridiculous.

They have no case at all. Signs don't mean a thing, because while being a census taker they have no choice but to answer my questions pure and simple. Thank God I don't live there.

looking at their mug shots, I would say there's a good chance their family tree doesn't branch out.
They should get the death penalty for this malice. I mean, c'mon, a 7 year old kid?

It's scary to let your kids out of the house unsupervised anymore.
Glad this kind of thing wasn't as prevalent when I was growing up. We used to play "Army" and "Commando" and all sorts of shit that involved sneaking around the neighborhood with toy guns.

No kidding...
...I was born in SoCal...
...when I was 5-6 I remember playing "Army" in the fields and around residential areas with my friends...we had wood stock, blued steel, bolt action toy rifles that fired special plastic caps that made a very impressive pop (about the sound of a .22 short)...
...nobody ever complained, cops were never called...nobody ever got shot...but we used a little common sense...and didn't go around pointing the toy guns at people not "in the game".
...it's the culture that's changed.
Imagine what our society would be like if schools were required to teach hunter safety, and basic personal defense along with "Condom Use 1A". Just bringing the issue to the forefront of a person's conscience makes them more thoughtful and cautious.

I like that idea.
But then, if the right wingers argue that "teaching how to use contraceptives will only encourage more teen sex", then one could also argue that "teaching how to use guns will only encourage more shootings"

Nice strawman argument, 79.

Very proud of my conservative friends, D and Z, here, for statements above. The two sides can agree on some very important things.
