The heat is starting to turn up for former Gov Mike Easley. North Carolina is currently setting on a $6bil deficit, has the highest tax and fee burden in the South (higher even than "Taxachussetts"), is furloughing state employtees, increasing class sizes, laying off teachers (and possibly my wife) and considering implementing such tax schemes like Vehicle Mileage Tax (you pay a tax on miles traveled....even traveled out of state). Yet, with all of this going on, here is a sampling of what Mike Easley was doing during his tenure.....

I share your hatred. Just another example of the down east Democraps in North Carolina who use their East club to pilfer from the Western part of the state and boasting about education. What a fokking joke the lottery has been and NC's education record as a whole. Worst part, we finally got rid of Sleasley and we settled for a fokking moron with ol Bev. So sad.

Mary Easley has been advised to resign after the resignation of the provost from NC State who created her position. If she doesn't, legislators may remove funds from budget which should begin July 1.....run thatg whore out....

Easley Pals Drop Like Flies

And another one bites the dust.

Cameron "Mr. Bojangles" McRae, a businessman buddy of former Gov. Mike Easley, resigned Wednesday from the state transportation board after Easley's unreported trips on McRae's private plane became known.

That's at least four POES -- Pals of the Easleys -- who've lost their posts as allegations swirl about Mike and Mary Easley's privileged heads.

Although maintaining that there was nothing untoward about the 88 percent raise then-first lady Mary Easley received to book speakers at NCSU or the apparently unreported flights taken by Gov. Mike Easley, Easley friends are dropping like bowling pins.

In addition to McRae, a Bojangles chicken franchisee, another transportation board member, Mac Campbell, quit just as The News & Observer investigation into Gov. Easley's travels geared up. Last week, two N.C. State officials -- provost Larry Nielsen and board chairman McQueen Campbell, Mac Campbell's son -- gave up their posts.
