Fuck off Jon. Sick of hearing bout your bullshit. He'll get to it and he has more pressing issues right now.
Be patient, asshole.
D1B. Ever the heartfelt concern for his fellow man.D1B wrote:dbackjon wrote:All the excuses the GLBT community have been getting for Obama's inaction on his campaign promise to be "a fierce advocate for Gay Rights"

The Democratic party is still supportive, Obama has not.TwinTownBisonFan wrote:well Jon, maybe the GOP will be "more supportive" of gay rights... hell, they might even acknowledge your right to exist sometime in the next decade (don't hold your breath)
i get some frustration, but what i dont understand is... politically... where you gonna go? you going to abandon the party that's been carrying water for your cause for 20 years? all because obama doesn't want to expend all of his political currency on this instead of say... health care reform (which we've been fighting for since 1960) or fixing the GOP-ravaged economy....
Both parties suck a dick. The dems were every bit as culpable in the ravaged economy yet you fucks think we're dumb enough to believe that it was the GOP?TwinTownBisonFan wrote:well Jon, maybe the GOP will be "more supportive" of gay rights... hell, they might even acknowledge your right to exist sometime in the next decade (don't hold your breath)

Agree.....and it won't change until a viable third party emerges....why should they change? Voters have been buying the same song-and-dance from these two parties and returning one or the other to power consistenetly....so, is it really a problem?Ursus A. Been working on the health care for nearly 50 yrs. and can't get it done? Maybe the general public doesn't think it's that great of an idea then. Maybe they have rightfully thought that government may not be the best steward of even more of their money. Maybe they could make more head way by helping the 40 million that need help with insurance instead of the forcing all 300 million under one roof?
Maybe the dems would have more clout if they actually followed through with what they told their constituents that voted for them that they were gonna do...or at least not pull back from their promises. Maybe both parties ought to work on getting some credibility back by keeping their word instead of the excuse machine cranking up once they got their votes.
Would you keep frequenting a business that gave you subpar service after they had your money?
If that businesses stance was to say consistently "what you are gonna do, go give your money to the guy across the street?"
Think of votes as dollars for this analogy. It's a hell of way that we keep letting these people do business.
Spoken like a true political operative.TwinTownBisonFan wrote:well Jon, maybe the GOP will be "more supportive" of gay rights... hell, they might even acknowledge your right to exist sometime in the next decade (don't hold your breath)

Hopefully, there is a party with a "live & let live attitude out there who would welcome the millions of disenfranchised voters (and their dollars)....perhaps a socially progressive, fiscally conservative party....will the L party seize the opportunity? Anyone else a potential candidate?dbackjon wrote:Spoken like a true political operative.TwinTownBisonFan wrote:well Jon, maybe the GOP will be "more supportive" of gay rights... hell, they might even acknowledge your right to exist sometime in the next decade (don't hold your breath)

Tell you what. You, and the rest of the Democratic Party that want us to be patient. You give up all your rights first. All of you that are married - immediately divorce.
Rights delayed are rights denied.
Obama had the political Capital to immediately end DADT. He choose to sit on his lying ass.
Myself, and most gay people I know will never vote for ANYONE that does not support full equality immediately. I know many that have already changed their registration. I am going to do so as well.
The DNC is already losing tens of thousands, soon to be millions of dollars in support over this. The DNC and Obama are WAY behind what the party, and what America wants.
Anything else is a **** lame cop out.
Agree with the first part, not sure about the L's though.Appaholic wrote: Hopefully, there is a party with a "live & let live attitude out there who would welcome the millions of disenfranchised voters (and their dollars)....perhaps a socially progressive, fiscally conservative party....will the L party seize the opportunity? L's in theory would be most likely based upon their stated beliefs....however, think there is enough of the redneck factor out there wsho is appalled by the thought....wish they would go back to GOP....Gil Dobie wrote:Agree with the first part, not sure about the L's though.Appaholic wrote: Hopefully, there is a party with a "live & let live attitude out there who would welcome the millions of disenfranchised voters (and their dollars)....perhaps a socially progressive, fiscally conservative party....will the L party seize the opportunity? Jesse Ventura might be the no holds barred person to do it. Will he be an L or something else?

Yep....and Lincoln didn't recognize the unholy union known as the confederacy....and Sherman didn't recognize the "Please....Have My Wife & Daughter But Don't Burn The House...Please!" signs posted by the men of Charleston & Clumbia as they left town....citdog wrote:dbackjon wrote:

my great-great-great-grandfather among them
well he was a supply sergeant... dunno about what he "supplied" but i suppose it's possible... his memoirs did describe that time as "laying pipe in the south" but i always thought that meant plumbing. but since the south didn't get that until 1995... it probably was a euphemism...Appaholic wrote:So....some TTBF seed spay have been spilled down south with the locals....where your from again Citdog?TwinTownBisonFan wrote:
