With the MN Supreme Court declaring Al Frankin the winner, I am convinced that those folks have lost the freakin minds. First Jesse as Gov. now this?

It's about as outrageous as having a B-rate-actor-big-tobacco-apologist-GE-schill get nominated for president....

Considering what Minnesota has had to work with for governor, I'd say that it is entirely possible that Al Franken was the lesser of two evils.

Not that that speaks well of Minnesota.

Coming from a state that elected Strom Thurmond for centuries to the Senate, I'd say Minnesota is the saner of the two...

That's the problem we have in American politics. Too often we have to choose between the lesser of two evils.
Having said that I can't believe Franken is a lesser evil than Coleman. You'd think Minnesotans would've learned their lesson after Jesse.

Sorry, but I know all three candidates in that race personally. (Coleman, Franken and Barkley) and franken WAS the less of the the three evils.

Despite his failures, Strom got shit done for South Carolina. He altered his policies and was a great leader for South Carolina. Clinton had faults but he got shit done for America. :twocents:

That's bad only depending on your politics.

I'll take a Rooster over a Clown any day.

Really..?
A staunch segregationist who was racist and backwards.

Finally: Americans learned the depth of Thurmond's hypocrisy. Essie Mae Washington, the daughter of a black maid from South Carolina, spoke 7 words that changed the nature of Thurmond's legacy forever: "My Father's Name Was James Strom Thurmond."

42% of Minnesotans voted for Franken, 37% for Ventura. Some Minnesotans have lost their minds. I didn't vote for either in those elections. Although if Jesse were running against Obama or McCain, I would vote Ventura. That's how wiggyity-wacked I think the 2 major parties are.

I've often wondered why my then 70+ year old high school AP Government teacher had the joneses for some Strom Thurman... she absolutely gushed over the guy.
