I'll have to go bass ackwards. I kind of like conservatism, but can't stand a lot of the hypocritical blowhards that preach it.

Always loved when my team played against conservative styles, offensive or defensive, or better yet, both. :thumb:

I agree with you...
Social conservatives confuse me more than anything - they seem to be focused on everything but themselves and their own actions...

And religious conservatives seem so closed minded about the beautiful possibilities and have a weird understanding of the concept of love

Fiscal Conservatives talk a good game but for some reason they really just don't end up doing what they say they're going to do... I wish they would... but they don't

And Minimalism is one of my favorite types of Art and also applies well to science and nature.. the simple answer is usually the correct answer..

If they are hypocrites, then they aren't what they say they are.

I'm okay if they have open minds and walk the talk, because.........................
...................action speaks louder than words.

Me, I'll use a cliche and say I'm a bit county and a bit rock and roll. I like aspects of both conservatism and liberalism. Both sides are guilty or forgetting the values they supposedly believe in so I pick and choose my leaders carefully. I voted mostly Democratic in the last election because I thought a lot of the local incumbent Republicans screwed up. But I voted for McCain because I thought he was just a bit more worthy than Obama, although both are more worthy than Bush and Kerry were in 2004.

It's too bad he chose a carnival sideshow for his running mate, the result would have been a little less embarrassing if he hadn't.

Yeah, that pretty much sums up most of my thoughts on the subject. It's a lot of "do as I say, not as I do."

Indeed. Even if McCain would have picked the best possible VP candidate, he probably still would have lost, but not decisively by 11 pm EST. The bad taste from the Bush administration screwed McCain and Obama capitalized on the want for change as well as someone could.

You just expained why Truman was elected. Why Eisenhower was elected, why JFK was elected, why Carter was elected, why Reagan was elected.

The voters want change; but nothing really changes.

Which is why I laugh at all the gullable fucks who voted for Obama because of his "change" mantra. Damned sheep.

And, why Clinton was elected. He ran on a platform of undoing the damage done by Reagan and Bush 41.

I believe I announced myself as a Goldwater Republican before the election.   You know....social moderate, fiscal conservative, strong military.  Obama is none of those. McCain is 2 of the 3.
