A caller to the Al Sharpton show threw this out there, and Sharpton followed the queue and put it out there too.

If she did, my approval rating of her just went up. Now if she would just do something to the media that keeps covering the Jackson saga...

Funny, but I don't think Al put it out there. I think he was just too dumbfounded and had no idea what to say.
I also think the caller was pranking.

Yeah it was a real work of art.
I think that it was from the heart and he was obviously more concerned with comforting the family and honoring MJ than impressing his naysayers and MJ haters.

It has nothing to do with being an MJ hater. It has everything to do with the bullshit he was spewing. One thing you/he might want to focus on is his usual "racist" bullshit. Saying that MJ made it OK for white kids to feel comfortable seeing black performers on TV. Or Whites feeling it would be OK to buy a black performers music? Are you fucking kidding me? I would think that it would be obvious that it was OK to watch and listen to Black performers long before MJ came along. A few examples that makes Al's point bullshit would be guys like Flip Wilson, Bill Cosby, Richard Pryor, not to mention pretty much all of the Motown performers. it was disingenuous bullshit but if you want to buy it then feel free. There was plenty to celebrate about Michael's life without acting like it was something that it was not.

I agree with you on those points.

Cool man, those are the only things that really made me shake my head. He could have done a great job but he had to try to fit HIS message in there instead of just honoring MJ for the performer that he was.
