CNN) — Sarah Palin wanted to take the money and "just run with it," the father of her grandchild said Thursday.

Levi Johnston told reporters the Alaska governor was stepping down early to take advantage of millions in potential earnings. According to the Anchorage Daily News, the 19-year-old said that late last year he heard Palin say "how nice it would be to take some of this money people have been offering us and just run with it, and saying forget everything else."

He pointed to talk show offers and other potentially lucrative deals.

IF, and I am saying IF this is true, she is even a bigger lowlife.

I don't blame her... (f_ck the spotlight)
People can decide to do what's best for them and their short time here...

I take the money and run - every chance I get... of course I announce that those are my intentions before I get involved in any projects

but I have no issue with her getting out... good for her
She may have mislead a few people but she can always ask for forgiveness (later)
from her cell phone on the yacht

here's the thing... if you were in her situation... what would you do?

you have no realistic shot at the white house in 3 years... and odds are you'll be in for a brutal reelection fight for your current job. your name id is 100% and there are several million people who are huge fans...

if it were me? i'd take a 7 figure advance for a book to be ghost-written for me, and then hit the lecture circuit, charge 25-50k to speak to groups, churches and the like... let my fame peter out and then take all that loot, join a corporate board or two (if they'll have me for the do nothing job) and then spend my time in AK with my family living off the windfall and collecting my residual checks.

I think that's what I have to do. Start a fund, play on the heart strings of America, and rake in the cash.

This is SPOT-ON...

Each of us has the opportunity to make the most of... well... our opportunities
She is very wise to get out now, while she can cash in, tell any story she wants and live a life "Press Free" from here forward..

I'm no Palin fan - but this move actually makes sense
