It's got to be tough to organize (I'm thinking) there are many pitfalls and potential issues in grass rooting together, from an already organized religion, a counter fringe group...

I mean it sounds easy to say: "Hey you guys.. Police your nuts and get this handled"

But if you actually ponder the process... how do you begin..?

I belong quite sincerely to a loosely assembled organization of science oriented professionals who believe in "God" or more accurately believe that God exists - and I can't imagine trying to organize us...

Exactly. If you're a Muslim in Indonesia trying to scrape a living out of the dirt, you don't exactly have the means to stop the Taliban from doing the things they do. You can disagree with them and denounce them all you want (and a lot of them do), but beyond that...what? It's the same deal with this kinder ficker. I'm sure 99% of Christians disagreed vehemently with what he did, but they had no real way of stopping him.

Because it's a lose lose situation.

First, we have the courts which allow these sort of guys to get away with almost anything and protect their rights above all others. Secondly, if we had a group of Christians that actually puts it to stop, they are evil henchmen who cannot stand their "religion" being questioned by enforcing their version of vigilante justice. Of course the first statement that would come from the anti religious group would be, "That sure wasn't very Christ like".

On a separate note, you see how long it took for this guy to go to jail for what he did. Now if he was out flying planes into buildings killing 2900 people, he wouldn't have been running around America free.

Prosecutors offices in West Texas are not populated by liberal progressives, who are more scarce than rain in that part of the country.

Primarily, the people who arrested him were police officers, District Attorneys, etc. first. They were doing their jobs.
