Two influential Senate committee chairmen were told they were getting special VIP deals when they applied for mortgages, an official who handled their loans told Congress in closed-door testimony.

Democratic Sens. Christopher Dodd and Kent Conrad had denied knowing they were getting discounts when they negotiated their loan terms.

Robert Feinberg, who worked in the VIP section of Countrywide Financial, testified about the loan terms before the Senate Ethics Committee, and provided the same information in an interview with Republican investigators of the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee. He could be

Which is: Too many Republican politicians "claim to be" and forward an agenda of high moral value.. while speaking down to everybody from their imaginary pulpit...

This attitude draws attention to yourself when you're actually just another lying politician like the rest of them... so the point is: Just do what you do and quit proclaiming to me morally superior - while dangling your penis in the public's face...

and like most Americans, you are misled about the quality of the congressional health plan.

it's actually pretty comparable to most decent corporate plans, but i can't tell you the number of times one of my former boss had problems with it...

it's a decent plan, but they have to choose a plan from a few options, and they are all flawed quite frankly.

I'm sure this will cause Hoagie, Z, T and a few others to stroke out but... I think what we need to do is remove the profit motive from health care... since that's where the cost explosions are coming from (combined with a medicare being a guaranteed payee)

Unemployment is on the rise in a huge way for lawyers...
in fact a funny essay I read just a few days ago regarding the specific issue of lawyers unemployed and the sheer quantity of young law students in the school systems - soon to graduate into unemployment

A black maid who worked for a lawyer who had to let her go... (which was no problem she got another home to service the next day) meanwhile he's in debt unemployed and just lost his car and condo... and worst of all now he has no maid to do his laundry... a real tragedy

Without the profit motive will the best and brightest go into medicine? I don't know. Maybe they will. But it is certainly a point to ponder. If I have some complicated disease I'd want the best and brightest working on the project and quite frankly I don't care how much money they make just as long as they cure me. I'd much prefer that to some good-hearted person, who is not the best and the brightest hoping and praying that I get better.

I think the health insurance companies should receive all income from all earners, no exceptions. They then could make sure we had really good quality health care spawned by the presence of trillions of dollars.

They could then simply send us back the part they don't need to provide this, at the end of the year.

Insurance has often been called legal gambling...so take a risk...

Stop buying insurance...but save the money you would pay, so you get to keep the interest...

If you remain healthy...that's money in your pocket...

If you have a health issue, you pay cash...until you can't pay anymore...

How is that different than insurance...they cap what they will pay.....

And Wedgie...go ahead and remove all profit from medical care...and see how long your small community hospital remains open...
