TOLEDO, Ohio (Reuters) – Hope and jobs are in short supply in Ohio eight months after President Barack Obama won the recession-battered state in the 2008 election with promises of a better future.
"People were looking for a savior to get us out of this mess and that's why they voted for Obama," said Jeff Fravor, 55, a retired train conductor on his way to breakfast on the outskirts of Toledo.
"I've nothing against Obama personally, but he's new to the job and 'hope' won't fix this mess."

Apparantly, "Ohio" only exists during football regular season and every 4-yr election cycle....

Is it just me, or did all the idiots expect shit to turn around over night?
The below is a good sign, but we still have a ways to go.
Big rally on Wall Street
Stocks surge to best levels in 9 months as continuing jobless claims dip, profit reports give encouragement. Dow tops 9,200 for first time since November.

First of all the train guy just isnt "hoping" hard enough.
Hope takes time.

or was that "change"?
Second, we just dont manufacture things in this country anymore, the media is that last manufacturer of saviors we have left and they are even doing poorly as their circulation is down and they are not hiring.

To one extent or another: We're all sheep about something... But anyway America had two choices
BTW: The only change or should I say "CHANGE" that occurred is instead of a spoon fed political insiders son who's been handed everything his whole life as the President we have a self made man who is the son of an alcoholic degenerate...
other than that nothing much has changed other than the general feel of the rhetoric

"If we keep doin' what we been doin', we gonna keep gettin' what we been gettin'.
Frankly it was a lot funnier when we had the imbecile G-Dub to lampoon. This bunch seems to be all about tackling real issues, and very little about spewing ideology. Not much comic relief in that.
Guess that's the reason we have Biden.

Biden serves as excellent comic relief..!!!

This bunch is spewing tons of ideology, same as the old bunch, only difference, it's coming from the left and not the right.

I agree with that statement... (above)
I have to admit I'm more comfortable with the tone and disposition of the present leadership - but as I stated I think it's still Rhetoric

oh... and it's toledo, along with cincinnati, the two conk bastions of ohio... jus' sayin.
point being, it appears that this recession has found a bottom and we'll be in recovery soon... but the severity of this economic collapse was always going to take time to fix... and oddly enough, i recall obama saying that as well

and BO has done relatively little to nothing to make that recovery happen. And, fuck you if you wanna say I'm a W supporter or some shit like that to discount my statement. W was a chimp in pres's clothing. He sucked ass and I'm glad he's gone. But BO is just another Asshole in a long line of Assholes, and he hasn't had time to fuck anything up or fix anything yet, but he'll get credit for the turn around, because the average person on the street is too stupid or compalcent, or whatever to really think for themselves.
It's not even so much that I disagree with most of what BO is doing, although I have some issues. It's that I just am so fucking tired of the whole goat show in general. It's sort of like a bad sitcom that has outlived it's time, but won't go off the air, it just keeps changing the cast.
Whatever, they can all suck my smelly dick.

Any hopes of having a President with any economic sense in the White House died when McCain was nominated over Mitt Romney.

He's a Harvard guy...
I've never understood how he aced Harvard Business school yet couldn't figure out that Mormonism is complete dookey... I mean really... seriously it makes Scientology look relatively normal
These are the mysteries

I do not pretend to understand faith. In a religious sense, to me, it defies logic. I suppose that is why it is called "faith".
I have sometimes wished I could believe in things simply based on faith, but I can't. I suppose I was not the first kid to figure out that there was no Santa at age 4 or 5, and probably not the first Christian to doubt the flood and the parting of the Red Sea.
I do believe in ability though, and I think that in terms of what we need right now, Romney has it in spades.
