I don't think it was a reach. It was a pretty good example of diplomacy not working. Sometimes you have to knock a bully on his azz or things will get worse.

Carter, Begin & Sadat is a good example of diplomacy making a big first step and improving things but that process is still incomplete 20+ years later.

I do believe that we should be pursuing a diplomatic resolution in NK but the success of that will depend on the resolve of the Chinese.

Good thought, 88, but I was specifically addressing Israel and Egypt, which do have peace between them now. I'm not talking about the entire Mideast conflict. As for Chamberlain and Hitler, that minuet had one sincere person and one whackjob. Not analagous with Carter-Begin-Sadat.
