Obama Brings Campaign Thugs And Bullies To White House

Don't say I didn't warn everyone. :shake:

Back during his Presidential campaign, I repeatedly chronicled instances where Obama campaign operatives used threat and intimidation tactics to "silence" opponents or intimidate those who dared to question Obama's "plan" (Joe The Plumber). Noticeably oblivious to this ethicacy conundrum were the legions of his supporters who saw "Justice" as the quintessential goal...

...but only when it applied to themselves or their friends.

Now, Rahm, the Donk heralded enforcer gets called out by Rep. Darrell Issa, who warns Rahm, "...this isn't Chicago politics"

Issa to Emanuel: Back Off!

August 4, 2009

http://republicans.oversight.house.gov/ ... NewsID=625
WASHINGTON. D.C. – Following reports that White House Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel has been orchestrating an effort to intimidate members of Congress and Governors who raise legitimate concerns regarding the effectiveness of the stimulus, House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform Ranking Member Darrell Issa (R-CA) sent a letter to Emanuel saying “While this type of scare tactic may work In Chicago, it will not work to intimidate me or other Members of the United States Congress.”

“I and others have dared to bring these facts to the attention of President Obama, the Congress and the American people,” Issa wrote. “You’ve unfortunately reacted by once again resorting to the playbook of the Chicago political machine.”

Last month, Politico reported that Emanuel had “launched a coordinated effort to jam” Senator Kyl and other Administration critics… “[A]fter seeing Kyl and House Minority Whip Eric Cantor (R-VA) again paint the legislation as a failure on Sunday talk shows, White House chief of staff Rahm Emanuel directed that the letters from the Cabinet secretaries be sent to [Governor] Brewer, according to two administration officials.”

Issa noted, “The fact that the letters were coordinated by you to maximize the level of intimidation is supported by the timing, structure, and content of each letter. Not only were the four letters all sent the day following Senator Kyl’s remarks, but they were also remarkably similar in tone and sentence structure.”

Letter from Ray LaHood, Secretary of Transportation:
On Sunday, Arizona Senator Jon Kyl publicly questioned whether the stimulus is working and stated that he wants to cancel projects that aren’t presently underway. I believe the stimulus has been very effective in creating job opportunities throughout the country. However, if you prefer to forfeit the money we are making available to your state, as Senator Kyl suggests, please let me know [emphasis added].

Letter from Ken Salazar, Secretary of the Interior:
Some key Republican leaders in Congress have publicly questioned whether the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act is working and suggested cancelling all projects that are not currently in progress. I believe they are wrong. The stimulus funds provided through the Recovery Act are a very effective way to create job opportunities throughout the Country. However, if you prefer to forfeit the money we are making available to Arizona, please let me know [emphasis added].

“At what point do you believe your practice of Chicago-style politics violates a public official’s right to speak out in favor of alternative policies,” Issa asks. “The American people have a right to know what role you played in developing the threatening letters to Governor Brewer and whether you intend to continue to engage in these tactics in the future.”

Simply pathetic.

What was that I heard the Donks say about the lack of ethics during the Bush Administration?

At least Cheney or Rove never pulled a stunt like this.

You havent seen anything yet.

These guys are all pretty stupid and have NO clue about the position they are in after all they are small time Chicago thugs.

They are brazen and have huge egos to feed.

This administration is actually calling on US citizens to snitch and tell on other fellow citizens over the health care BS they are trying to force on us. They want to shut up the people that are informed and are calling them out.

Agree.

As much as I love TMan, any thread he starts that references Joe the Plumber in a victim role in any capacity has essentially burned the clutch during the pace car lap.... :coffee:

My only concern is Darrell Issa...
I mean seriously: Darrell Issa is complaining about somebody being a bully

The only thing Issa understands is bullying - I think it's just envy -
he misses being on the Thug Side of the whoopin' stick - now his boys are getting pushed around

Issa is a fvcking pussy.

and really, when the pot decides to say these sorts of things about the kettle... really?

Issa single-handedly financed and pushed the absurd recall in CA - sounds to me like he can dish it out, just cant take it.

Z,

You are correct in your analyses, but way too nice and tolerant of the pretentious and completely useless socialists, commies and mental cases on this thread.

I'll take these one by one... :coffee:

Cite one documentable instance where a Bush WH staff member (or Cheney or his staff), orchestrated a threat campaign against an elected official for publicly criticizing Republican legislation while being interveiwed during a television news program...

...you won't find one. It's ethically out of bounds...even for the Bush/Cheney clan.

But quite normal for a Chicago-politics operative who's used to doing business in the most amoral corrupt system in the U.S.

Sorry Jonboy...

...it's litmus test time.

I know it will never be made public, but if Obama or Biden don't take Rahm underwing and counsel him to knock it off...

...the Obama Admin legacy will make Bush's appear sanctified.

Issa can't be bought or intimidated...

...which is why the lying amoral democrat criminals who you defend will pull all stops to destroy and devalue him.

And don't talk about the "absurd recall" like you know something about California. You don't know jack shit about California. I actively studied Gray Davis' policies and agendas during his tenure up through current time, their economic impacts, and can attest that much of California's economic crisis, which in fact triggered our nation's economic collapse, resulted directly from Davis's corrupt agenda and destructive, regressive policies. To this day, California is shackled with Davis emplaced anti-progress-agenda-driven bureaucrats who have knowingly mired California in an infinite bog of ridiculous, "looking-glass" nonsense surrounded by committees, commissions, working groups and long-term studies (many of which never see the light of day), but all intended to bring California's economic growth to a halt.

And they've overwhelmingly succeeded.

Now, until you learn about basic economics, and actually spend some time studying our markets and bank capitalization, I suggest you find a topic wherein you possess expertise, like Michelle Bachmann's panty treadmarks.

It wasn't just Gray Davis who ruined California, T'man! It was also the public employee unions, the radical LGBT politicos, and the Mexican socialists who dominate the California legislature.

Don't be too hard on Cap'nCat. He can't find a topic on which he possesses actual expertise, because he has no actual expertise. Besides, his entertaining buffoonery detracts mightily from the credibility of his pretentious "arguments."

Greetings, faux conservative.

As much as you might desire to join your fellow uber-libs in attacking Joseph Wurzelbacher's character in an attempt to marginalize working class America, his observations were so valid he's one of the most sought out public commentators this year. And the chickens are coming home to roost for those libs who partook in the character assassination
