What another exciting moment in American History, she is only the 3rd woman and 1st ever Hispanic justice. 2009 has been a barrier breaking year!

2009 has been sad year in the history of "the late united states" both the pres and soto belong side by side in a field picking oranges or cotton

We all come from Africa 40,000 years ago, so WTF

The Cardozos and the Nathans [Cardozo’s maternal ancestors] came to the American colonies in the eighteenth century via Holland and England. The family legend is that the Cardozos came from Portugal but there is no firm documentation about the particulars. The family tree is filled with names like Seixas, Mendes, Gomez, Riveiro, Navarro, Peixotto, and Pachecho, indicating their heritage as Sephardic Jews from the Iberian Peninsula.

Like that is anything new.

News flash - Your buddy Clarence is a REAL sexist, as are most of the male Justices in years gone by.

And plenty of been REAL racists.

Stop listening to Rush/Hannity - JUSTICE Sotomayor is neither a racist or a sexist.

But thanks for ensuring that no Hispanics will be voting Republican for Decades! :thumb:

Oh, BS, Citdog! Neither Obama not Sotomayor is a good choice for the jobs they hold, but that racist crap has no place.

I hope you are just saying that to stir the pot.

And using the logic "two wrongs make a right" is pure genius. Bitch about what one party does, then do the EXACT SAME THING when given a chance. :shake: :shake: :shake:

That anyone and everyone is capable of doing great things regardless of race or gender. She is qualified and will do a wonderful job in her new position. No one should be held back from their destiny because of genetics. If you believe in the opposite, then take it up with Jesus. :twocents:

Celebration is definitely warranted. :thumb:

Much like Obama, her background didn't matter. Because if it DID, neither one of them would be in the office they're currently in.
