Let us implement Obama's health care plan.

Enough of the bull shit fighting. Just do it.

If it sucks, guess what we will find out and Obama will be exposed. If it works then he is an even bigger god to most. What is there to lose? Either way the country will find out the best path to take

In a rational world I would agree. But in our world, if implemented and crappy, we'll never get rid of it. It will just be incessantly modified and with each election cycle we will be offered improvements which will never come. It will just be what it is today, a vehicle for political parties to abuse each other and us.

We are ultimately headed for single payer.

End of story.

We are all going to die too. But that is no reason to look forward to it.

Why not? Why are we, as Americans, so afraid of death? Read Tuesday's with Morrie then get back to me.

Clenz, I will agree with you if you can do just one thing for me-

Name one single nationwide entitlement program that has been repealed after it was discovered that it was either flawed or did not have the intended effect. These things do not go away.

I don't want Obama to be exposed, or whatever. The healthcare program could be proven to be just a massive sh!t sandwich and it would not change the breakdown of those who support him and those who do not. I just don't think a single payer public option healthcare plan is going to solve any of our healthcare woes.

That being said, I would like to see the Republicans offer a REAL alternative (but it won't happen for the reason explained below). The business model is already out there (cellphone and internet service providers), but the big pharmaceutical companies and the AMA and a bunch of other heavy hitters extend their claws at the mere suggestion. They are in the pockets of people from both sides of the aisle.

Obama was crazy for even trying...
He should have just pretended (like we have for the last 20 years) that everything was fine

Example:
What..?
Who.. me?
I don't know what you're talking about...What health care problems..?

Chad, this isn't about a fear of dying. It's about sustaining a quality of life. So much to learn...

Bingo!

We should all be concerned about helping our neighbors and fellow citizens survive during an emergency, but we destroy ourselves and our country when we let the government steal from one segment of society to provide a "quality of life" for another segment.

"Once you learn how to die, you learn how to live."
"The most important thing in life is to learn how to give out love, and to let it come in."

We can't, in this culture we live in, give everyone a quality life. It can't be done, and won't be until we change our culture, which will never happen. We are too caught up in only doing things that will help us. Most of the time helping others is only done to give off the look that we care and so on.

"So many people walk around with a meaningless life. They seem half-asleep, even when they're busy doing things they think are important. This is because they're chasing the wrong things. The way you get meaning into your life is to devote yourself to loving others, devote yourself to your community around you, and devote yourself to creating something that gives you purpose and meaning."

Until this no longer becomes our culture there will be no true reform. Sad reality of America, but it is. This plan he wants to implement is nothing more than a shell to make people feel good, until they find out it isn't the saving grace they were promised.

Let's do it. If we fail, well maybe then there will be a true reform.

Read Utopia then get back to me.

You don't want to do trial and error with other peoples lives, careers and money. That's negligant and dangerous.

True reform will never happen and a shitty program or law nowadays will probably never be repealed. The last thing to be repealed, which should've been was probably Prohibition.
