The Town Hall...

What are the angry people really angry about..?
What questions are they asking..?
Where are they getting their information..?

Answer:
He's not quite sure what he's angry about, but he knows he's angry. One of the chants at the town hall events was, "No national health care!" but no one has proposed such a thing.

They have been manipulated into arguing - and don't know why...

To be sure:
This isn't about health insurance. It isn't even about health care. This is about the sinking feeling in their stomach that they are losing power in this country

One guy shouted:
"Keep your government hands off my Medicare."

Obviously the larger point here is they don't care about the logic of the issue at hand - they don't even care what the issue is. it's just: Pure unadulterated fear. Who is stoking these irrational fires of hatred and fear..?

Answer:
Conservative talk show hosts all across the country (this is not rocket science)

Key Point:
Who's the beneficiary of all this outrage and mass confusion..?
Special interest groups funded by the health care industry who are hell bent in their effort to kill health care reform. They're telling us the proper response is anger - don't listen to the congressman - don't try to understand the issues... just Shout - Be angry - Obama is taking this country away from you...

The woman who now famously stood up in a Delaware town hall and demanded that her congressman recognize the illegitimacy of Barack Obama's birth certificate, said something telling in her rant. She said, "I want my country back!"

We're a stupid country - filled with stupid people...
That's a bold statement... prove me wrong :coffee:

the fact that something like 65% disagree with these people proves that wrong.

the media gives these people airtime because it's good for ratings. as for the rest of your analysis... yep.

65% of people may disagree with these people, but that doesn't mean 65% agree with Obama's healthcare plan, including AARP:

PRESIDENT BARACK OBAMA: We have the AARP onboard because they know this is a good deal for our seniors. AARP would not be endorsing a bill if it was undermining Medicare.

JOHN ROTHER, AARP: On behalf of our members, I think it's important that we continue to say in public and to the president, no, we have not yet endorsed it.

This plan is going down in flames and, as I said on another thread, Obama can't even get out of his OWN way on it. It's fucking hilarious to watch....

Where did I say that "the government can handle this medical thing..? "
But you're doing a perfect job of proving my point...
and my point was... in short: We're so fucking stupid we don't even know what we're angry about...

I repeat: No National Health Care plan has been proposed... The government is simply talking about possible solutions...can you understand that: It's called "a discussion"

Thank you for proving my point :coffee:

And what I'm saying is, it's not a federal responsibility so why are they even involved in the discussion??? :coffee:

What you fail to see, because you are living in your ivory tower, citizen rights are disappearing by the minute. You are ok with that because you don't care. The rest of the country is NOT ok with it. Illegals have more rights than I do.
wow... you really need to attend a town hall and scream like those banshees... that's pretty deluded...

Now that's more like it...
I believe it's because medicare and medicaid are growing in member size so fast that ultimately so many Americans will be on some kind of a federal program that something has to be done...

but frankly:
I think all federal supported health care be it Military / low income / elderly should all be dropped...

you're on your own 100% - find your own way - pay your own way 100%

This is something to be upset about. The government should fear the people, the people should NOT fear the government.

Fair enough...
but if the government stopped assisting some 45 million elderly with health care...
what would happen..?

I don't know, and can't answer that.

However, the government is becoming less and less accountable for their actions because they no longer fear the public, so they do things that aren't in the best interest of the people but in their best interest.

Those 45 million people vote, elected officials want their vote, that is part of the reason why government is involved in a health care discussion.

Correct me if I'm wrong here..
HR 3200 hasn't made or even passed the oversight committee - wasn't it rejected on July 15th... I didn't think the house had submitted anything officially yet..

The house hasn't. What people aren't reading is that different COMMITTEE'S are proposing thier own legislation. That's it, nothing have been submitted yet. But Mr. I love Rush and Mrs. Palin is Awesome like God don't read the news or research these actions before they start spouting off.

Perfect example, AlphaGrizz.

What would happen if the government stopped assisting some 45 million Juanita and Billy Joe with free money/food/lodging every month?
I would approve of that 100%
what point are you trying to make - other than you're angry and poorly informed..?

Mark, I hope you don't honestly believe that.
That's more of an opinion/thought as to why Congress is in the discussion. Not a personal opinion. Government has taken on a role to protect it's citizens, even from itself (which it fails miserably at). :twocents:
