Brazil buys jets from France (not USA)

U.S. loses another big sale due to - not too subtle differences in world views - When asked why Brazil chose French jets instead of U.S. Jets... Quote: "We want to act together with France because we share the same values and a same vision on the big international goals."
this has become a trend... U.S. Technology companies have lost too many big jobs because "we politically don't share a common interest" with other major countries in the global market
The whole "Team America World Police" attitude has cost us more than just Marines lives...

French jets come with an integrated surrender mechanism that is tripped by any unfriendly radar signal that it detects. Ours do not.

America's been in serious decline since Reagan. Hoping the Chinese just get it over with, invade, give Alaska back to the Russians and straighten us out for good. Our military wouldn't fire a single shot in protest, either.

Apparently you've never seen "Red Dawn".
It ain't the military the chinks have to worry about.

They've surrendered already? Is that a new record?

No, apparently the Brazilian military doesn't agree with the President....and has history of doing what it wants and not what its civilian leadership says to do...
Quite different from our system, but when in San Paulo, do as the Brazilians do....or something like that...
Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva's stated plans to award a multi-billion-dollar fighter jet contract to France ran into turbulence on Wednesday amid pressure from rival bidders and Brazil's air force.
The selection process "has not yet finished," Defense Minister Nelson Jobim said in a statement late Tuesday.
Brazil "will continue with negotiations with the three participants; they will be followed up and the proposals potentially reshaped," he said.
That position ran counter to official statements by Lula and his government on Monday -- during Brazil's Independence Day attended by French President Nicolas Sarkozy -- to the effect that the deal had all but sealed in favor of France's Rafale jets made by Dassault.

It wouldn't have anything to do with the fact Boeing now needs to figure out why their wings won't stick to the fuselage for their ever delayed Dreamliner would it?
Damn carbon fiber, just won't bond to more carbon fiber and stay stuck! Just a minor aviation issue.

And the Chinese are waiting for good ole American "know how" to solve the problem before they use good ole Chinese palace intrigue and espionage to steal the technology.

The airplane on the table is the Hornet, built by McDonnell Douglas.
