Governor Clinton?

Rumor going about that Hillary Clinton is going to resign as Secretary of State and run for Governor in NY.

She would give NY Democrats a strong candidate that they lack in current Governor Patterson.

If she did make this move it could lead to rumors she is planning a challenge to Obama in 2012.

Stay tuned...

Why would anyone in NY vote for her for Gov in 2010 if she was planning on running for Pres in 2012?

Plus she'd be taking a pretty big gamble considering she'll be in a primary fight against Cuomo.

I dont think she would run for President in 2012... but there will be plenty of speculation.

As for Cuomo, correct me if im wrong but hasn't he constantly been saying he isn't going to run?

Obviously if he has changed his mind and is running this rumor makes less sense and probably wont happen... I would be happy with Cuomo as a candidate, but someone needs to step up and challenge Patterson, because he will not win.

I wouldn't believe a word about Cuomo's chances until the last day to officially announce. Other than that I agree. Patterson is a lame duck who doesn't stand a chance of getting elected.

Clinton wouldn't be bad as she isn't really an upstater or downstater. She's not really a NY'er. Which may be good.

Seriously....

I know you like Hillary and all. In fact, she isn't too bad of a boss here at State. (Internally speaking, anyway)

That being said, you know damn well there is no way in hell that the Democratic Party would ever be so stupid as to commit the suicide that would be marked by not re-nominating Barack Obama.

Look, I'm pretty sure I said I dont think she would run in 2012... I did say that people will start talking about the possibility though if she does run and win the NY Governors office next year.

Short of a total collapse by Obama, Clinton's only shot is 2016.

If Barry is still sucking it up she'll be like a shark with blood in the water and go for the kill. She won't take the chance of having to run against someone that has turned things around (see Mondale vs. Reagan). I could also see her running for governor because it would give her executive experience and she could talk about working with legislators to get things done. :twocents:

Agreed. The collapse has already begun, and she WILL be a shark in the water in 2012.

She is too fat, unqualified and way to fu*king stupid to be governor.

She is perfect for New York.
