Former Senator, Republican Bob Dole, Supports Obamacare

When former Senator Bob Dole was the Republican minority leader, he helped deep-six President Bill Clinton’s health care plan. This year, Mr. Dole, 86, who left the Senate in 1996 to run for president, is working behind the scenes to help resurrect one.
His motivation comes partly from experience. After his body was shattered during World War II, he underwent seven operations in veterans hospitals and three years of rehabilitation. “I had good treatment and it’s probably why I’m still around,” he said in an interview. He has been working on the issue since the 1970s, and admits now that “we probably should have passed the Clinton bill, but it got so politicized.”
Bob Dole has opened the door for Republicans to support public health care and still be "good Republicans".
This could, I hope, be the tipping point that pushes Obama's plan (and Kennedy's dream) into a reality.

It doesn't exactly say that Dole supports the public option.
Nice story about the old warhorse, but I don't see him changing a single GOP vote.

If anything it makes me oppose it more. He needs to go back to selling Viagra.

No sh!t.....Bob Dole & his ilk are example A of the career politician who put scoring political points over the good of his country on many issues many times over....a political hack married to a political hack....be glad when that whole generation in Washington dies off.....
