Secretary of Defense Gates Backpedaling on Afghanistan
Looks like Obama might be considering a rejection of the advice he is getting from his Commander in the field, in favor of the "minimalist" strategy pursued by Rumsfeld in Afghanistan.
What in the world will happen to all these poor bloggers who savaged Bush and Rumsfeld for not putting enough troops into Iraq?

Here is what the Washington Post's Richard Cohen has to say about it:
"...The trouble with Obama is that he gets into the moment and means what he says for that moment only. He meant what he said when he called Afghanistan a "war of necessity" - and now is not necessarily so sure...."
