U.S. Flag Has 43 Stars...

A star-spangled banner proudly displayed in Texas lacked a little something: seven stars.

A San Antonio company has replaced a U.S. flag it produced that had just 43 stars.

KSAT-TV reports that the banner was hanging at the Northside Independent School District Aquatics Center when somebody noticed the error.
Allied Advertising spokesman Jesse Castoreno says it was a "simple mistake" and the flag was designed by someone who is no longer employed at the company.
Translation: He was a Mexican immigrant....

If there was a time that the U.S. Flag officially had 43 stars, then flying it is not a violation of the U.S. Flag Codes...

Any flag that was officially authorized may be flown...

It just looks goofy unless there is a purpose...

We have a flag with 49 stars hanging in my sons room that we got from my Grandfather when he passed away.

No, he wasn't an immigrant.

The 43 Star Flag is available for purchase from my friends at U.S. Flag Depot, Inc.

The 43-Star Flag: This Flag became the Official United States Flag on July 4th, 1890. Five stars were added for the admission of North Dakota (the 39th State on November 2nd,1889), South Dakota (the 40th State on November 2nd,1889), Montana (the 41st State on November 8th,1889), Washington (the 42nd State on November 11th,1889), and Idaho (the 43rd State on July 3rd, 1890) and was to last for just 1 year. The only President to serve under this flag was Benjamin Harrison (1889-1893).

Does the patterns of the stars matter? Can I fly a flag with the stars in a pattern of my choice, as long as there are 50 of them (or some other number that was once official)? I'm thinking that the answer is "no", but I don't know that for sure.

Correct...the answer is no...at least if you want to comply with the U.S. Flag Code...

But in reality, the Flag Code has no enforcement power, so.....

Nothing wrong with being an immigrant. Anyone who loves our country, want to assimilate and be an American, and came here legally is welcome in my book.
