Are you an Anglican? Are you pissed off about the female or gay bishops issue? Well, the Catholics have a deal for you....
(USA Today) The Vatican has opened an express lane to traditional Anglicans — unhappy with their own church's moves toward accepting female and gay bishops — to reunite with the Roman Catholic Church their forefathers left nearly 500 years ago.
In a surprise announcement from Rome, Pope Benedict XVI approved a provision to create a new church entity that will allow Anglicans to join the Catholic Church in a format similar to Ukrainian or Eastern Rite Catholics, keeping their liturgy and married priests, but not married bishops.

The announcement Tuesday stunned many in the 77-million worldwide Anglican Communion, particularly the Church of England, where the Archbishop of Canterbury has wrestled for years with factions that opposed female bishops.

Williams, in a joint press conference in Rome with Cardinal William Levada, the Vatican's chief doctrinal official, said "it would have no negative impact" on interfaith relations. Catholic officials say they're not poaching converts.
Not a bad business move by the pope as people, correction: educated and wealthy white people, are leaving the catholic church in droves. Nice of them to offer an opportunity for disgruntled anglicans to get their bigot urge satiated. :geek:

This is funny because locally here in Eastern Pa , from Philly to Scranton, Anglican churches are saying.."Is your local catholic church closing? Come check us out."

I would imagine many people would look into it as for a lot of people the loyalty lies with the specific church not the faith.

An Anglican bishop is just a heterosexual priest, kind of like a Methodist is a Baptist that can read.
