Ok I'm hoping Michigan State somehow wins. I know nobody's giving them any shot and I'm not real confident either. Frankly I think Alabama caught a break in having Ohio State knocked off because I think Ohio State has the raw talent to match up with them. But it is what it is.
Kills me that without that weird play where Michigan State beat Michigan on that punt thing it probably would be Ohio State in this game.

I'll be rooting for Clempson, but damn is 'Bama a machine.

Re: Michigan State vs. Alabama
I am at least hopeful because Michigan State did not matchup up well with Alabama. Alabama can have issues with an offense designed to create space. Clemson's matches up much better with Alabama, I think, in terms of the style of offense they have as well as with the very mobile quarterback that runs the ball a lot and is a big play threat doing it.93henfan wrote:I'll be rooting for Clempson, but damn is 'Bama a machine.
Again: I also think Alabama would have had a much more difficult time had the Big 10 opponent they were playing been Ohio State both for the offensive style reason and the talent reason. Ohio State may have played kind of disinterested football this year but I've heard they may have as many as 5 players drafted in the first round of the next NFL draft. And they wouldn't be playing disinterested football against Alabama.
A real shame that blocked punt play happened between Michigan and Michigan State. Didn't realize that at the time but that screwed up the "final four" matchups.

In the "man it's too bad we didn't get to see an Ohio State vs. Alabama" rematch area:
Here is an article that has Ohio State having 12 players drafted including 3 in the first round and another 6 in the second round:
http://www.todayspigskin.com/nfl-draft/ ... ojections/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Here's one saying they could have six go in the first round:
http://www.landgrantholyland.com/2015/1 ... lor-decker" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Here's one that says their draft class could top the 2004 Ohio State class that holds the record for number of players selected from a single school since the NFL went to seven rounds (14):

They have the talent to match or maybe even exceed Alabama's talent level. A real shame that darned blocked punt play and their own listless effort against Michigan State robbed us of potentially seeing that match up.
