Re: The inevitable "Is Alabama the Greatest Ever" question
I was pulling for Clemson and was getting frustrated because I felt like they looked like the better team but kept making mistakes. But it turned out well. Great game to watch; especially since I was pulling for the team that pulled it out in the end.
It started with the decision to go for it on 4th down in the first quarter. I told my wife before they did it that they shouldn't do that and that they should play field position. Sure enough they didn't make it. Alabama got good field position along with momentum and went up 7-0.
But they ended up winning in spite of being -2 in the giveaway/takeaway stat.

Kickoff time for the game absolutely sucked. Since the EC(B) dominates football anyways, it ought to be scheduled at a decent hour EC(B) time.

I was gonna say 14-1 but then I remembered the time the Griz went 14-1.

Re: The inevitable "Is Alabama the Greatest Ever" question
Clemson had 511 total yards to Alabama's 376, 31 first downs to Alabama's 16, and a 34:44 to 25:16 edge in time of possession. The game should not have been as close as it was. But stuff like a totally unforced turnover (the other one was forced), a bone headed decision to go for it on fourth down, and giving up a long touchdown on a blown coverage after Alabama's offense had been doing nothing for two quarters made it a whole lot more difficult than it should have been.

Nope, they are not even close.
and they wont be next year or the year after that, lots of teams better than any of these Bama teams.

After taking a 3-hour vacation, Saban has already started reviewing game films to prep for the 2017 season.

Last quarter and a half was as good entertainment as you'll have all year. Great game! Ironic in the day of getting Johnny recruited and getting film & 5-star ratings that the game was won by a zero star walk-on that couldn't bench 185 when he showed up at Clemson.

Man...i'm sorry I turned the game off at halftime. That first half wasn't entertaining. I should've known better. Clemson is a 2nd half team. Congrats to Clempson.

The REAL D-I champs are James Madison....

SuperHornet's Athletics Hall of Fame includes Jacksonville State kicker Ashley Martin, the first girl to score in a Division I football game. She kicked 3 PATs in a 2001 game for J-State.

I guess the "inevitable question" has been answered...JohnStOnge wrote:Clemson had 511 total yards to Alabama's 376, 31 first downs to Alabama's 16, and a 34:44 to 25:16 edge in time of possession.
