California Collegiate (summer) League

Post by CatMom »

Kid from TXST that was draft eligible but is coming back for his Sr season (long back-story I am not at liberty to discuss). I will allow that 7 teams were after him; including my Phillies.
He currently leads the Cali league in hitting with a .422 BA, .656 SP and .505 OBP.
Also has 5 relief appearances with a 0.00 ERA. (7.2 IP, 8 Ks)

Made the Cali All Star game.
Scouts from every MLB team attend this game and put the players through their paces, pre-game. He did great and hit several HRs during BP. Went 2-4 with 2 RBI and 2 RS, in the game.

Sounds like this kid might be the next Micah Owings.

If so, that's WAY cool!

SuperHornet's Athletics Hall of Fame includes Jacksonville State kicker Ashley Martin, the first girl to score in a Division I football game. She kicked 3 PATs in a 2001 game for J-State.

Updating JMacs stats to include he now leads the California league in hitting. Next closest guy is hitting .385
BA - .436 (41/94)
12 K, 13 BB, 3 HBP
27 RS
14 RBI
.681 SP
.514 OBP
13 SB

Statistically he is in the top 3 in 6 of the major offensive categories. Being tops in BA, OBP, SP, & triples
