And 89 and Andy, you guys aren't from Maryland. Why are you referring to it in the possessive?
**** Maryland! I'm only using it for a job!
While technically, I was born in DC, my parents did live in Silver Spring up until I was 6. And then moved back, to Columbia, when I was 13. I think I qualify to be considered a Maryland native.
I guess I'll let you slide. So where did you live from 6 - 13? Those are some pretty formative years.
Btw, I took a back road (MD-97) up through Howard County on my way up to Newark last Friday. Pretty country up that way.

Western Howard County is nice. Old farms and McMansions.
I lived in Medford, NJ for 1st grade to the middle of 5th grade. Moved to Englewood, Colo for half my 5th grade to half way through the 7th grade. Those are some fun years to be the new kid in school.
My dad promised me we wouldn't move again when I got to high school.
"Elaine, you're from Baltimore, right?"
"Yes, well, Towson actually."

It's the Maryland State flag:
Which begs the next question: What the HELL is the Maryland State flag supposed to represent?
The flag of the state of Maryland consists of the heraldic banner of George Calvert, 1st Baron Baltimore. It is the only state flag in the United States to be based on English heraldry.
The black and gold design on the flag is the coat of arms of the Calvert family. It was granted to George Calvert as a reward for his storming a fortification during a battle (the vertical bars approximate the bars of the palisade). The red and white design is the coat of arms of the Crossland family, the family of Calvert's mother, and features a cross bottony. Since George Calvert's mother was an heiress, he was entitled to use both coats of arms in his banner.
Agree with the majority here- the unis looked foking ridiculous. Looked like a GD clown outfit...
Contrast that with Penn State-Bama yesterday. Thats how unis should be...
JMU Football:
4 Years FBS: 40-11 (.784). Highest winning percentage & least losses of all of G5 2022-2025.
Sun Belt East Champions: 2022, 2023, 2025
Sun Belt Champions: 2025
Top 25 ranked: 2022, 2023, 2025
CFP: 2025
BTW clenz, I should mention that my #1 pet peeve on unis is when schools wear colors that aren't their school colors. FSU and VT wearing black, OkieSt and Boise wearing grey, etc... White is the only exception.
You do realize that black and white...and to an extent shades of gray are not colors right? Thus, while they are not school colors they are accent shades and completely acceptable.

Not for the PRIMARY color. As for your scientific definition of "color"... that's merely a technicality. There are schools whose official "colors" are black or white. FSU is not one of them. Neither is VT.

The uniforms, which pay homage to the Seminole Tribe of Florida, will be all black with garnet numbers and gold trimming, and feature the word "unconquered" on one pants leg and "Seminoles" on the other. The Nike design is based on the traditional colors of the Seminole Indian flag.

Baloney. They wanted to wear black because they thought it would be cool. If they based the unis on the Seminole flag, they would have worn red and yellow instead of garnet and gold too.

I'll let em know to run another changes by you first
I'm not a fan of black for black's sake either. I remember Southern did it in basketball a few years ago. I don't mind some kind of backstory to explain why someone's wearing black or some other non school color. Which is why I don't have a problem with the pro combat unis nike does. I don't have a problem with ua doing this for Maryland. I liked the turtle shell helmets they worn in warm ups. I can accept the significance of the uniform. I just think those look like crap.
