Musberger/Herbstreit
They were just discussing UCLA potentially going to the Rose Bowl. Normally, Oregon would go after they win the Pac-12 title game, but they may get pulled for a "higher" B(C)$ bowl this year, if not the B(C)$ Championship. If that's the case, the Pac-12 South winner goes to the Rose. That SHOULD be U$C, but they're on probation. That brings us to UCLA, who currently stand at 6-5 and are in the process of getting throttled by U$C. That would put them into the Pac-12 Championship at Oregon with a 6-6 record. Odds are, they get pounded there, too. That puts UCLA into the Rose at 6-7. Hence Musberger's and Herbstreit's question about UCLA getting a waiver for the Rose.
Now, I don't know if there IS such a beast. But if there is, it's a no-win situation because if they get it, it's stupid to have a team with a losing record in such a storied bowl game. But if they don't, who gets the bid? Jump back to the Pac-12 North for Stanford? Go off the board for someone in a different league?
Stupid B(C)$. What a can of worms....

Oregon will not be playing in the title game...Oregon will not get pulled into another BCS game....Oregon will be in the Rose Bowl....

That makes the most sense right now. But with Arkansas losing today, everthing will be in free-fall until the next rankings come out. If Oregon jumps up, the title game could be an issue.clenz wrote:Oregon will not be playing in the title game...Oregon will not get pulled into another BCS game....Oregon will be in the Rose Bowl....

NO NO NO NO NO NO NO. Where are you getting this? that is wrong, you pulled that out of your ass. As I said before, you have no idea what you're talking about so just stop. They were asking if they need a waiver to go to a bowl at all, Stanford would go to the Rose if Oregon was notSuperHornet wrote:They were just discussing UCLA potentially going to the Rose Bowl. Oregon has two losses....Oregon will not be playing in the title game...Alabama has to lose again (can't happen), LSU has to lose twice (can't happen), Okie State has to lose, Boise State has to lose, Virginia Tech has to lose, and Stanford has to lose...
Long story short about 7 teams have to lose (a couple teams more than one, which isn't possible anymore)
What will it take for you to understand your fucked up scenario can't fucking happen?

What higher game do you think they'll be pulled for? They have two losses and no shot at the BCS title game. No shot.SuperHornet wrote:They were just discussing UCLA potentially going to the Rose Bowl. There is no way Oregon can move ahead of either LSU or Alabama.

I will post it again. There is no way Oregon can move into one of the top two spots. There is no scenario where they pass either LSU or Alabama. Oregon will not be in the BCS title game. No chance. Nada. Bet your house on it.SuperHornet wrote:That makes the most sense right now. But with Arkansas losing today, everthing will be in free-fall until the next rankings come out. Read it again, YT. Saying someone "pulled something out of their @$$" doesn't make it so. Did you bother to watch the Stanford-ND game? That came straight from Brent Musberger and Kirk Herbstreit, not from my @$$.
What a tool.

There is no zero chance any situation you have thrown out there can happen...the game was a blow out and they were filling air time, and I guarantee you are taking it out of context, which only makes your scenarios in your head that much more fucked up....Please, just stop.

I AM stopping now. You're making sense, clenz. You're not trying to win through intimidation like our resident teenager here. I'm done with this conversation.

Re: Musberger/Herbstreit
You're an idiot in the highest order. I watched that game and listened to them talk about that. They made NO mention of the Rose Bowl. They were pondering if ANY bowl could take a 6-7 team, seeing as that team had a losing record. Not the Rose Bowl. Jesus Christ man, did you get a 0 on your SAT or something?SuperHornet wrote:Read it again, YT. Saying someone "pulled something out of their @$$" doesn't make it so.
