Oklahoma St > Alabama
Look at their resumes. No fucking way Alabama should get a chance to play LSU in the BCS championship game.

OSU's loss: Iowa St
Alabama's loss: LSU
as much as I dislike the SEC, and DON'T want to see a rematch... I can objectively say that the Cowboys shouldn't be #2 based on their resume.

It doesn't matter. LSU will win against either team. Honey Badger takes what he wants.
I can see the case for either. Oklahoma State has the worse loss... hard to argue for them. Alabama already lost to LSU... on their home field. Why should they get a rematch on neutral ground?

I understand that Alabama's loss was a "better" loss but....OK St. has 5 wins vs. the BCS Top 25, Alabama 2. Plus the Big 12 is a tougher conference top to bottom than the SEC.

There are TWO teams other than 'Bama who won impressively today who should be in this conversation. Yes, OK State is one of them. Those SEC honks REALLY don't want to hear the other one, because they beat the winner of the SEC East....

Re: Oklahoma St > Alabama
I agree. I think Alabama is a better team than OSU but I think OSU has accomplished more. I think Alabama obviously has the edge in terms of "quality" of the one loss but Iowa State is not THAT bad. And OSU was playing on the road when it lost while Bama was at home. OSU has more quality wins. I think it's be 4 in the BCS top 25 rather than 5 because I think Texas will drop out but it's still going to be 4 to 2 and Kansas State's probably going to move into the top 10 so both will have 1 win over a top 10.
I would love to see Oklahoma State vs. LSU too. High flying offense vs. physical offense backed by defense kind of thing. Kind of like the old Big Sky vs. Youngstown State playoff matchups in FCS.
I HOPE that somehow people put OSU in. But I think the chances of that happening are close to nil. There has been a lot of "momentum" for putting Alabama in there.

Re: Oklahoma St > Alabama
I wouldn't mind seeing Boise State play LSU but I don't think there's any way they have the resume of either OSU or Alabama. Their quality win is over a team that's going to be somewhere around 20 in the final BCS rankings now that LSU pounded them. Their only other game against a team that's going to be in the BCS top 25 was a loss. And that team's probably going to be in the 10 to 15 range. Alabama's going to have two wins over teams in the final BCS top 25 and one of them is going to be in the top 10. And their loss was by 3 in overtime to the #1 team. No way one can make the case for putting Boise State in over them. There are TWO teams other than 'Bama who won impressively today who should be in this conversation. Yes, OK State is one of them. Those SEC honks REALLY don't want to hear the other one, because they beat the winner of the SEC East....
One thing I'd like to see if OSU somehow does get voted into the title game is Boise State vs. Alabama. But that's not going to happen either. Once you get past the title game BCS bowls are about nothing but money and they're not going to put a team like Boise State into one if they don't have to based on the criteria for admitting non auto bid conferences. And since Boise State didn't win their conference they don't have to admit them.

Early reports from "BCS experts" has this being the closest finish between two BCS teams in the history of the BCS....we may see OSU jump Alabama.

Ok St. jumping Alabama may finally cause the BCS to explode when all the SEC lovers in the media freak out. I am keeping my fingers crossed.

Re: Oklahoma St > Alabama
After further review... I've changed my mind - based almost ENTIRELY on my desire to see Oklahoma State's offense get after that LSU defense...
It would sure make for a compelling game. I also think that the thoroughness of the Cowboys beating of a very good Sooners team might be enough to say that as a 1-loss team - and outright conference champion - they deserve the bid.

Re: Oklahoma St > Alabama
Geeze I hope so. I must admit that as a fan of LSU (as my favorite FBS school and second only to McNeese overall) I don't want to see them have to play Alabama again. But also just as a fan of college football I think it'd be better to match the SEC champ against the best champ from the other conferences and I think Oklahoma State is it. If the SEC is going to win 6 straight BCS titles let's at least see some other conference have a chance to knock the king off the hill instead of locking it up with an all-SEC title game.clenz wrote:Early reports from "BCS experts" has this being the closest finish between two BCS teams in the history of the BCS....we may see OSU jump Alabama.

Re: Oklahoma St > Alabama
If that's how it went then #7 Arkansas would be the only BCS top 25 team Alabama beat. Meanwhile Oklahoma State would have beaten 8, 11, and 15. Let's hope the pollsters pull the trigger and put the Cowboys in.clenz wrote:Projected BCS standings....These have been real real close this year to the actual standigns

If Alabama gets in... I will enjoy watching people bitch about the SEC and the system.
Mike Slive and the SEC proposed a 4-team playoff using existing bowl games 4 years ago... and they were rejected by every single other BCS conference. Fuck all those guys.

Re: Oklahoma St > Alabama
Here's an interesting article that came out before this weekends games:
http://eye-on-collegefootball.blogs.cbs ... 33566427/2" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Last time I looked 80% had voted for team B, which is Oklahoma State. Of course it left out important information in terms of who one-loss teams lost to.
Still, it's interesting. If you go by the updated Sagarin ratings that came out today, you'd say Oklahoma State beat 4, 10, 12, 13, 15, and 16. while Alabama only beat one top 20 team in 7 Arkansas.
Yet, weirdly, Sagarin's system nevertheless has Alabama at 2. So does his ELO chess system that's used by the BCS. I guess that loss to 29 Iowa State really does drag OSU down.

But realistically, I have to wonder how many of the OSU football players even knew who the womens bball coach was, much less knew them personally.
I mean, it seems like 99% of people on here totally ignore all womens sports.
