...that LSU coach Les Miles cut kicker Mo Isom, saying that four other kickers performed better than she did during spring ball. He does say that she is welcome to try out again during fall camp. I'm not sure I buy that, though. Two or three of those "kickers" are punters.

Chick can hit from over 50 yards and has a bigger frame than kickers have had in the past. What's not to like?

A lot of punters also play as kickers on FG's and PAT's. I don't see why you find that so incredible.

She might able to kick a 50-yd. field goal, but I'm sure her kitchen is more than 50 yards from the goal posts.

think of the safety issue. Also, does LSU want to put up with a potential sexual assault charge if she gets tackled or knocked down and thinks the person grabbed her cookie intentionally?

The only "safety issue" many bring up is a girl getting blasted. But at 6' 185, she's bigger than many college kickers anyway. As a former soccer player, she can stand up for herself; they take hard hits without pads. And as far as trying to cop a feel, I don't think TOO many guys are going to take a chance on that trash. That crap is on video; he'd have no way to disprove it.

Precedent has already been set for girls playing. It is also the water polo model for getting separate girls competition. It has to start SOMEWHERE. Besides, there is ALSO precedent of females playing professional football (albeit in the minor leagues). Why deny a college opportunity when there is already pro opportunity?
