In the process, they withstood a Day 3 charge from #17 Florida and #5 Auburn. The top 5 teams in each region advance to the NCAAs. Left in the dust are #20 Duke (+17 881), #41 SMU (+19 883), #9 UNLV (+24 888), #28 Indiana (+30 894), #44 TX Tech (+31 895), UNC-Charlotte (+43 907), LA-Lafayette (+52 916), Mt. St. Mary's (+64 928), and George Washington (+64 928). The NCAAs will be held 29 MAY through 03 JUN at Pacific Palisades, CA.

Campbell's Viata Guillaume (-3 213) won a one-hole sudden death playoff with SMU's Matt Schovee for the one individual spot to the NCAAs. They were part of a 3-way tie with Liberty's #45 Robert Karlsson, who did not take part in the playoff because Liberty is going to the NCAAs as a team.

SuperHornet's Athletics Hall of Fame includes Jacksonville State kicker Ashley Martin, the first girl to score in a Division I football game. She kicked 3 PATs in a 2001 game for J-State.
