Notre Dame has no business in the ACC unless it is for all sports.

I personally have been saying for years that Notre Dame belongs in the Big 10 seeing as how it's in the heart of that conference.

I totally agree, the ACC is allowing them to have their cake and eat it too.

Agreed. IIRC, aren't they playing ACC teams in football? Why not elect to go full membership?

yep they have an "arrangement" to play 5 ACC teams every year. Might as well go all in and play 3 more for a full slate.

Because they would have to give up a number of their traditional games and the TV money that goes with it. This is a good move for ND; the ACC has basically legitimized them in basketball, without them having to sacrifice their marquee football games.

But it was a stupid move for the ACC.

I didn't think about the TV money. That makes a lot of cents. :thumb:

The ACC and Notre Dame announced Friday the schedule matching the Irish and its ACC opponents for the 2014 through 2016 seasons. The games are part of an agreement for Notre Dame to play five ACC teams each year in football.

Because of previous commitments for 2014, Notre Dame will face four ACC teams next season, then will play six in 2015 and five, starting in 2016.

The matchups for Notre Dame are:
2014
at Syracuse (Sept. 27) and Florida State (Oct. 18) and home against North Carolina (Oct. 11) and Louisville (Nov. 22)
2015
at Virginia (Sept. 12), Clemson (Oct. 3) and Pitt (Nov. 7), home against Georgia Tech (Sept. 19) and Wake Forest (Nov. 14) and against Boston College in Fenway Park (Nov. 21)
2016
home against Duke (Sept. 24), Miami (Oct. 29) and Virginia Tech (Nov. 19), at N.C. State (Oct. 8) and against Syracuse in East Rutherford, N.J. (Oct. 1)

Under Armour and Notre Dame sign 10-year partnership
Image
Notre Dame and Under Armour announced Tuesday that they have agreed to the most valuable shoe and apparel contract in college sports history.

The private school did not reveal the value of the 10-year deal, which will begin when its contract with adidas expires at the end of June, but sources told ESPN.com that the value of the deal, in cash and merchandise combined, is worth about $90 million.

That would make the deal worth more than the $82 million adidas is paying in cash and product to Michigan over 10 years.

Notre Dame needs to go to the Big 10. Should have done this when Penn State joined.
