Re: Big South Baseball Thread, 2010
after coastal gets a disappointing sweep over LU, liberty comes back with a 7-6 win over VCU.
liberty is now 38-15 (18-6). winthrop series thursday-saturday. expecting a sweep over them and a final regular season of 41-15 (21-6) and the first time LU posts over 41 wins in a season. but thats assuming all goes well with the series. and every1 knows what happens when you assume

Re: Big South Baseball Thread, 2010
CCU finished the regular season at 47-7 (25-0) b/c the last game was rained out. As far as anyone can tell this is the most conference wins in the history of D1 baseball a team has had that finished the season undefeated. CCU is the only Big South team to go undefeated. In 1988 they were 15-0 in conference.
Per Josh Hoke's blog from The Sun News: No team in a conference that still exists has won more than 18 conference games to finish undefeated over the last 40 years, according to research by The Sun News and the Big South. It is possible that Coastal had more conference wins to complete an undefeated run than any team in college baseball history.

Depending on where you look:
RPI: Coastal is #3 in the nation
Collegiate Baseball D1 Poll: Coastal is #4
Baseball America: #5
USA Today/ESPN: #4
Rivals: #8

CCU rallied from a 6-1 deficit to beat high point 15-9. CCU is now 50-7 (28-0). They play for the Big South Conference Title tomorrow afternoon after Liberty plays High Point - winner faces us and has to beat us twice.

congrats to coastal. lil disappointed liberty couldnt take advantage of the bases loaded situation with 1 out. few other situations they coulda come through and put up more of a fight. thats the way it goes i guess. congrats again. hopefully liberty did enough to get in the playoffs

Re: Big South Baseball Thread, 2010
$70 is for the entire Regional package. All games.
I am not making to the Regional or SR (if we get there) this year. I am going to Rosenblatt. Last year it is there and I have to see some games. Hopefully CCU will make it there too. That would be unbelievable!
